UACC | Shows battery voltage. To understand whether there is an error in this case, it is necessary to activate all devices that consume the most voltage. Allowable voltage is from 13.9 to 14.5V. If it is less, then it is necessary to check individual circuits of the network. |
THR | Throttle position parameter. As a rule, if it is faulty, the driver will know about it without diagnostics, since the car will move jerkily and the engine power will constantly drop. Press the gas pedal without starting the engine, but turning on the ignition. The TPS readings should gradually increase to 90% (or slightly less). If everything is so, then the sensor is working; if not, it needs to be replaced. |

FSM | Idle speed sensor performance indicator. Ideally, this parameter should not exceed 50-60. If you press the gas pedal sharply, it can increase to 160-180. |
ALAM 1 | Indicates the voltage level recorded on the oxygen level monitoring device. When the car engine is warmed up, this indicator should increase from 0.007 to 0.7 V. If this indicator differs, then something is wrong with the circuit. |
LUMS_W | This coefficient indicates the rotation of the crank pulley. Ideally, it should vary around 4 revolutions per second. If it is slightly larger, then this already indicates a misfire in the engine cylinders. Computer diagnostics of cars has been practiced all over the world for about 40 years. Back in 1980, General Motors installed a diagnostic interface in its cars, through which the condition of all car electronics, as well as the ECM protocol, is monitored.
Then in the USA a universal diagnostic protocol was developed for all brands of cars, which is still valid today, but has a more advanced version - OBD-2. It is applicable for cars manufactured in America and Canada; the Japanese analogue of such a system is JOBD, and the European analogue is EOBD.

To check using a scanner, you need to connect the on-board computer “State X1” to the tester or laptop using a diagnostic cable. The scanner or laptop must be equipped with software designed specifically for diagnostics. In our article we will look at an example with the KWP_D program.
In addition to this utility, you will also need to find a specialized OBD-II adapter. It is necessary in order to transfer information from the bookmaker to the laptop via USB output. The diagnostic connector is located next to the gearbox selector, under the cover. You need to connect a scanner to it.

If the adapter is Bluetooth, select the appropriate settings. The program is also interesting. I haven’t figured it out deeply yet, but it sees the VIN, but doesn’t write what the controller is. Why do I need a VIN number? But the model and serial number of the controller would not be out of place. He also doesn’t see the serial number of the controller - he writes some incomprehensible icons. Fun, but stressful.
I haven’t found any other programs for ELM and CAN for Grants yet.
I also tinkered with ScanMaster - the program is only suitable for viewing errors and erasing them. There are only 14 basic parameters that it shows.
Why, one might ask, is the “Mileage with diagnostic lamp on” parameter needed? What useful information can be gleaned from this parameter and what necessary thoughts in car repair may arise based on this parameter? But, at the same time, this program does not even show the injection time, which, in my opinion, is a fairly necessary parameter, not to mention the parameters of the position of the clutch and brake pedal, on which the limit switches are located and give a signal to the controller. Of course, I understand that these limit switches have only two states - on and off, and this state can be checked with a regular tester. But this is no longer convenient. Maybe, of course, the scanmaster will identify the incorrect operation of these limit switches as an error - I don’t know. And these limit switches, judging by the reviews on the Internet, fall apart quite often. Yes, there is a “PID Configuration” tab in this program - there are a lot of necessary and interesting parameters there, but they are all not active. I haven’t found any information yet on how to activate them. By the way, I saw screenshots of other people’s scanmasters online - there are much more activated parameters there than I have. It's a mystery - I don't have a solution yet.
I tried to find information online about what parameters the commercial OpenDiag shows, but I couldn’t find it. The question arises - pay 5 grand in rubles for the commercial version of the program and see the same minimum set of diagnosed parameters as the free scanmaster? I don’t see the point - it’s easier to go to the dealer under a three-year warranty, and then you’ll see what to do next. Although I used the free OpenDiagnostic (downloaded from the official website, the latest version 1.4) with both K-Line and ELM - the program is normal, it sees a lot of controllers, even M 73, which neither Motor Tester can see (I mean the program for PC, not diagnostic scanner costing over 60 thousand rubles) neither SteVaz nor similar A 2, MyTester. In general, diagnosing Granta on your own in terms of one personal car exclusively for yourself is a rather tedious procedure. Either we use ScanMaster and read only errors (this could also be an on-board computer donated by the dealer), or we take a lot of money (from 60 thousand and above) and buy some kind of Motor Tester or Launcher. Although I had to communicate with 43 Launch, I was also somehow not impressed. Firstly, he basically refused to see vases with a GM diagnostic connector, he saw WAGs with old two-pin diagnostic connectors every other time, he saw only Daewoos of Korean origin, he refused to see Uzbek ones. Some Tatar translation from Chinese into Russian sometimes drove me into a stupor - it was very difficult to understand what he wanted to say. And all this at a price of under 100 thousand.
