Replacing the VAZ 2114 alternator belt

The belt length for this model will be 700 mm. The replacement time will take you a little more than 10 minutes. When I replaced it, I checked it with a multimeter. I also added brake fluid.

It is especially important to monitor the tension of the belt. If you tighten it loosely, then you can reduce the voltage in the on-board system. In this case, a whistle will be heard and the light on the panel will begin to blink.

How to remove the generator

  1. Remove the protection from the engine.
  2. To repair, you need to loosen the tension roller.
  3. We remove the upper and lower bolt that holds the generator.

  4. After the belt has been loosened, the generator must be slightly moved towards the engine and the rubber part removed.
  5. Due to the fact that the generator is completely removable, the belt tension bar can be removed.
  6. The next step is to remove all terminals and pipes from the air conditioner.
