Then we hide them under the trunk trim, which is held on by clips (to unclip them, you must first lift the latch). In the cabin, we lay the wires under the left threshold trim (it is not necessary to remove it) and lead them to the mounting block.

After changing the trunk lid, it became too heavy and began to open poorly. There are many solutions to this problem, but a friend suggested the easiest and fastest way. It is necessary to tighten several turns of the spring with nylon ties. I pulled five turns on each. After this procedure, the trunk bounces like a young one.
The ties are not particularly noticeable; the spring is covered with a boot and looks neat. Certainly. It would be better to use black zip ties.
Since we're on the subject of the trunk, I'll show you another small life hack. If the trunk lid dangles when closed, and, in my opinion, it cannot help but dangle, you should wrap a little electrical tape around the lock bracket. The play disappears completely, the trunk will close more quietly.
If the electrical tape is of high quality, it lasts for a long time; I reapply it about once every six months.

Installed an external trunk release button. Recently I had to remove the rear reflector and glue the reflector to the base substrate. At the same time, I installed a trunk lock control button. This need is long overdue after the seven-year operation of the 111 station wagon. The button is a little exotic - a VK-2 piezo button (zaotexkom.ru/production/piezo/), it was possible to embed an ordinary (waterproof) one into the plastic bulkhead, but since the button had been waiting for its place and hour for a long time, it was installed. It has one remarkable property - the pulse duration is limited to 1 s when pressed and held for a long time. The wires were brought out through the rubber seal of the license plate illumination harness. Then through the left rubber corrugation of the trunk lid into the interior and along the pillar to the left rear lights. It is best to lay the wiring itself in a standard corrugation with wires - the corrugation is attached to the left hinge of the lid and goes under the plastic upholstery of the trunk lid. This upholstery is secured with pistons.
As for the interior, it is best to lay the wires under the plastic sill trim, especially since there is no need to remove it - just bend the edge.
Why does the Vesta trunk not open with the key fob?
The remote controlled system is quite complex and may fail to function. The main reasons why the trunk of a Lada Vesta cannot be opened using the key fob:
- The electric drive fuse has blown;
- the lock is loose or clogged;
- The batteries in the control panel are low;
- the supply wire is broken or broken;
- The control unit is broken.
You can try to unlock the door with the remote control by holding the button for 3 seconds. If this action does not help, then the lock is adjusted according to the manufacturer's instructions.

- device wires on ties, with connection connector;
- Control block;
- sound and optical alarm.

The winter road promises many hidden dangers. Often the right side of the roadside looks like a snow-covered, flat surface. However, a very large number of motorists who, for one reason or another, have to drive onto it, annoyedly (and, alas, belatedly) end up in a real ditch, covered with a seemingly horizontal layer of snow.
Our new test of the Lada Vesta is designed to find out what advantages the ESP system provides, specifically designed to control the distribution of vehicle forces in difficult situations. For greater clarity, we decided to drive into a ditch and try to get out of it, first without the exchange rate stabilization system, and then using it.
Let's say right away that the car had to work hard. Almost in a dangling state, its two wheels balanced on the edges of the ditch - in this case, as a rule, it is almost impossible to do without outside help. But we dare to assure you that the factory electronics did not let us down. The on-board “brains” accurately dosed the injection of gasoline, allowing not only to let the car stand up straight, but also to climb onto the opposite side of the ditch, returning to the roadway.
Let us remind you that we performed all the above maneuvers with the ESP system engaged.
Next we disabled ESP. In this case, no attempts or tricks to move the car from an awkward position were successful. The wheels of the front axle only bit into the snow and ice harder and harder. In such a situation, leaving the ditch is possible only with great luck or with outside help.
Substitute devices
The main reason for battery failure is its discharge.
When the Lada Vesta battery runs out, the owner will face another problem - he will not be able to open the door, since it is opened with a key remotely.
For such a case, a keyhole is provided in the driver's door handle body, hidden by a special plug. Once inside the Lada Vesta, you can open the hood and gain access to the faulty unit.
The rear view camera for the new Lada can be produced by other manufacturers, the main thing is to choose the most suitable device. When choosing, the following points are taken into account:
- The recommended viewing radius should be at least 170 degrees. Otherwise, there is a possibility that the display will not show objects that could cause a collision. A similar parameter is indicated by the manufacturer in the operating instructions.
- Minimum light level to obtain a high-quality image. Reversing at night occurs when the environment is insufficiently illuminated, and a flashlight does not help much to solve the problem. Only high-quality models provide good picture quality in the dark.
- The most important parameter is the resolution of the video camera. It determines how high quality the resulting image will be. Due to the small size of the device, it is almost impossible to provide high resolution.
- Availability of backlight. It can significantly improve the quality of the resulting image when shooting at night or in fog. However, such a device cannot be installed correctly in all cases.
- The temperature amplitude determines whether it is possible to use the camera in certain conditions. The recommended range is -40 to 70 degrees Celsius.
- Degree of resistance to moisture or dust. When making the case, plastic is often used, which does not react to environmental influences. A high degree of protection eliminates the possibility of oxide and corrosion, which can cause the device to fail.
Installed an electric trunk drive on a Lada Vesta sedan or how to get closer to premium features
If you need a good car with a manual transmission, so that it costs less than its competitors at the entrance, Vesta is an excellent car with pleasant suspension, handling and a spacious interior. However, tuning is in the DNA of the Lada, which means you can unwittingly start investing so much money in this car that, when you put everything together, it turns out that you could have taken at least an Octavia, or even a Camry. Recently a man arrived in a Vesta sedan with an interesting set of modifications for this car, as is already clear from the title - a set of electric trunk drive.
This kit for a station wagon is one thing, but we did something similar on our own for the SW Cross, using electric drives from some disassembled foreign car as a basis. The man immediately decided to bring his sedan closer, probably to the Mercedes S class, but looking ahead, I want to say, it turned out great.
As I also like to call our cars - “Business on wheels”, if your hands grow from the right place, do cool what you screwed up at the factory and among the thousands of VAZ owners, there will be hundreds who will buy your solution. In this case, they brought us a kit that contained everything - brackets, wiring, instructions. The set includes one electric drive, a lock loop with a closer (the cover smoothly fits onto the lock, using an electric drive, and only then reaches out so that the lock is completely latched)
The installation is extremely simple, first the spring on the left side of the trunk is removed, two brackets are attached to the standard holes, the electric drive itself is attached to them, then you need to replace the hinge and secure its motor. After which all that remains is connection, perhaps the most crucial moment. The set includes an internal button and a control unit. The longest part is pulling the power wire from the fuse box in the cabin, but otherwise everything is simple. But there are nuances, for example, the internal trunk closing button is located on the inside of the trim, and the system also has an unpleasant beeper, which we decided to replace with another one with a more pleasant tone.
Our Vesta did not have a button for opening the trunk from the cabin, but the control unit supports connecting several buttons at once - in the cabin, in the lid outside and inside, and the command from the standard alarm key fob will also work.
Of course, these are not springs for 70 rubles, but a full-fledged system, very high quality, it should be noted, but the price of 30 thousand is still too high, what do you think? But there is so much functionality, the trunk can be opened with your foot, closed with a button in the cabin, and generally surprise one and all, I think few people expect such a function on the Lada Vesta. The same kit is also available for station wagon bodies, where in my opinion it will be much more useful, as it allows you to adjust the height of the lid opening.
DIY button installation
Preparatory stage:
- screwdriver;
- rags;
- mechanical (sensory) mechanism for support;
- insulation;
- wire, length 7
- terminals for connecting wires.
Regulations:
- We turn off the engine.
- Open the hood.
- We reset the power terminals from the battery.
- Remove the plastic trim on the left side of the central channel. We remove the block with wires from the cigarette lighter board.
- We dismantle the rubber and plastic trim at the threshold of the driver and rear passenger.
- We lay the wire from the cigarette lighter into the trunk.
- We reinstall the decorative door sill trims.
- In the luggage compartment, remove the sound insulation and plastic from the lid.
- We fix the touch panel on the inside of the cover. If you are installing a mechanical one, then it is installed from the outside in the recess. Drill an additional hole.
- We connect the wires according to polarity: red - plus, black - minus, green - plus to the “unlock” in the cabin.
- We carefully insulate the wire connections.
- We put on the power terminals of the battery.
- We check the operation of the unlocking mechanism.
- We install plastic and decorative trims again.
To simplify installation, it is not necessary to be powered from the cigarette lighter. You can supply voltage directly from the battery. In this case, the sensor (mechanics) will work continuously until the car is set to the standard alarm system.
