The VAZ 2109 injector stove stopped working
With the weather getting colder, driving an unheated car is no fun. There may be several reasons for a heater malfunction. From this article you will learn what to do if the fan of the VAZ-2109 stove does not work and how to get to it to replace it.
Troubleshooting or why the heater fan stopped working
If faults appear in the electrical circuits, the fan simply will not turn on. This can be determined by the value of the coolant temperature; the index arrow will move to the red zone of the scale. To troubleshoot in this case, reduce the load on the engine to idle speed and turn on the interior heater. Then open the tap to supply coolant to the heater radiator. Start coasting until you come to a complete stop.
Always start looking for the cause of a malfunction with the electric motor switch. To do this, open the hood and disconnect the sensor terminal. To continue testing, you will need a piece of wire with which you need to short-circuit the 2 wires that go to the terminal. In this case, insulate the jumper so that it does not come into contact with the ground. Start the car, if there are no other problems, the fan will start working. But it will work constantly until you turn off the car.
If after your actions the fan does not work, then open the cover of the mounting block and check the fuses on it to see if they are working. If the fuses are good, but the fan still does not work, then the problem lies in the electric motor.
To test the motor you will need 2 insulated wires to connect the motor terminals directly to the battery. If the fan starts working, check where the air flow is directed; if it goes under the hood, then everything is correct, but if not, then you need to change the polarity of the wires that you connected to the battery.
As can be seen from the above, the main reasons why the fan does not turn on is a malfunction of the relay or system wiring.
How to replace the heater motor
Very often, when a creaking noise appears when the stove is turned on, it indicates a malfunction of its motor or its imminent failure. In this case, you will need to replace the heater motor. There are also cases when you need to replace a heater fan; the operating principle for replacing a motor and a fan is very similar.
- Crosshead screwdriver.
- Ratchet with a head 10 mm in diameter.
- Flat screwdriver.
Replacing a VAZ stove fan is not a difficult job, the main thing is to clearly know what exactly you will do and in what order.
- Remove the plastic cover of the heating system; it is located in the engine compartment of the car and is held on by five bolts.
- Slide the heater motor protective cover; to do this you will need to remove the rubber band that acts as a hood seal.
- When removing the fan with the motor, unscrew the 2 mounting bolts that secure them.
- Then return to the cabin and find the positive wire plug under the steering wheel and unhook it.
- The next step is to unhook the negative wire; to do this, unscrew the fixing nut using a ratchet.
- Return to the engine compartment and remove the heater motor.
- Replace faulty parts.
- Reassemble everything in reverse order.
Try not to mess up anything with the connections of the electrical circuit, otherwise you will have to disassemble everything again.
It should be noted that any owner of a VAZ-2109 can handle the job, and the price is 1,500 rubles—about the cost of a new motor complete with a fan.
How to disassemble a fan motor
If the stove fan does not work and you do not want to buy a new one, but prefer to deal with the problem yourself, you will need to disassemble the motor itself.
- Unscrew the 2 fan mounting screws.
- Unhook the fan itself; to do this, disengage its support.
- Tear off the foam seal on the right side of the casing.
- Remove the fan shroud support.
- Using a screwdriver, release the plastic latches of the casing.
- Using a screwdriver, pry up the 2 spring latches and unhook them.
- Now you can remove the cover from the motor.
- Pull out the motor, and the heater motor impeller will also come out with it; do not remove it so that the balancing is not disturbed.
- Unscrew both screws that hold the brush holder.
- Remove the 2 cage nuts.
- Remove the brush holder.
- Perform a visual inspection of the collector. If there are scratches or burns, it needs to be cleaned with fine-grained sandpaper. If there is more serious damage that cannot be repaired, replace the motor.
- Reassemble everything in reverse order.
If you already have experience in repairing electric motors, then it will not be difficult for you to cope with this, however, sometimes it is easier to replace a broken motor with a new one than to suffer from repairing the old one and extending its life for a very short time.
Tips for motorists
Indeed, the interior heater of the VAZ-2109 car often presents the owners of these vehicles with surprises associated with failures in operation during the cold season. Perhaps it was already faulty in the summer, but who turns it on in the summer? There may be several reasons for the unsatisfactory operation of the stove; in principle, they are now well known.
Why “the stove doesn’t heat up” on a VAZ 2109
Let's start with those that are fairly easy to identify . the electric fan fails , the amount of air flow passing through the heater core will depend only on the speed of the vehicle. If the car is stationary or moving at low speed, there will be very little warm air in the cabin. This malfunction is easily determined. We turn on the fan in one of the operating modes, but we do not hear the noise of the operating fan.
The lack of warm air for blowing the windshield and side windows will be felt if the air ducts are not sealed .
To check, warm up the engine to operating temperature, open the hood, touch with your hand the tube supplying coolant to the heater radiator, and then touch the tube discharging it. If you feel a temperature difference, it means that the heater is working, and the warm air partially goes into the gaps of the air ducts.
The heater does not work on VAZ 2108, 2109, 21099 cars, reasons
Many owners of VAZ 2108, 2109, 21099 cars are familiar with the situation when, after turning on the electric motor of the heater fan (“stove”), it does not work or works, but only at the highest or lowest speed. Let's look at why this happens and what to do in such a situation.
Causes of failure of the heater fan electric motor - “stove”
— Heater speed switch is faulty
The simplest thing is that its back part (a round chip with several contacts) has moved away from vibration, or the contacts in it or on the switch itself have oxidized. The switch connection should be restored and the contacts should be cleaned. To do this you will have to disassemble part of the front panel.
— The “ground” in the electrical circuit for turning on the electric motor of the “stove” has disappeared
On VAZ 2108, 2109, 21099, the negative wire comes from the electric motor itself and is attached next to it to the car body. We clean the contact to restore ground.
— The wiring of the electrical circuit for turning on the fan motor is faulty
Perhaps the connecting block has simply come loose or the connections have oxidized. In the worst case, there is a “break” in some wire. Using the diagram we find the problem area.
Connection diagram for the electric motor of the interior heater fan - heater of VAZ 2108, 2109, 21099 cars with a high panel
— The electric motor itself is faulty
First of all, the brushes of the electric motor and its commutator (to which they are pressed) are suspect. Brushes may be worn out or damaged and may become stuck. The collector wears out or becomes dirty. In any case, it is necessary to remove the heater motor, disassemble it and check for a malfunction.
Secondly, an interturn short circuit of the armature winding may occur in the electric motor. In this case, the “stove” fuse (4th or F7 in block 2114) will light up. Electric motor to be replaced.
Reasons why the heater fan motor only runs at low speed
— Heater speed switch is faulty
The contacts have oxidized or the switch itself has failed.
— The motor armature commutator is dirty or oxidized
It is necessary to remove the electric motor, disassemble and clean the collector.
— The armature shaft jams in the bearings
Extraneous sounds (grinding, squealing, creaking) are possible from the electric motor. The fuse may blow. We are replacing the electric motor.
Reasons why the heater motor operates only at high speed
— Heater speed switch is faulty
— An additional resistor for the heater fan motor has burned out
Notes and additions
— The electric motor of the heater fan (“stove”) can be connected to the on-board network either directly (highest speed) or through an additional resistor having two resistance spirals (0.23 Ohm and 0.82 Ohm). If both spirals are included in the chain, the speed is low, if one is 0.23, the speed is average.
Heating system elements
The stove diagram clearly shows the location of its main functional elements. It should be noted that the design of the stove on VAZ-2108 models, 2109
and 21099 are the same. Many car owners know that the heater in these models is not fully developed. As a result, the interior is not heated properly, so a decision is made to modify the stove with your own hands. Just in this case, it is important to know the design of the heater so as not to confuse anything.
The design of the stove of the VAZ-2109 car, whether it is a high panel or a low one, is absolutely identical. Therefore, the information presented will be useful to owners of this model with any instrument console.
Knowing the main points and what is located where, you can already try to independently deal with the problems that arise and fix the malfunctions that appear, while saving money and time on trips to the service station.

Topic: VAZ-2108 stove does not work
Good afternoon ! Help me please ! My stove doesn't work. So, in order. The stove just stopped working. It worked only after the car jumped on bumps, and even then until the first shutdown. Then it wouldn't turn on again. Sometimes it happened like this: you start the car, turn it on - it doesn’t work. You turn it off (I don’t turn off the stove), start it up and it starts working, but only in the 3rd position and until the first turn off, then it doesn’t turn on again. I replaced the switch - it didn't help. One friend advised me to kick the gas pedal - I kicked it and it started working. I kicked it 2-3 times - it helped, but now it doesn’t. Does not work. I found out about an additional resistor. I looked. One of the 3 wires was completely torn off, the terminal on the other 2 was burnt. I took it apart and replaced the terminals and resistor. Still doesn't work. A new electric motor for the stove costs 700 rubles. I don’t want to just throw away money - what if it’s not about him! I want to try to disconnect the old one and test it on the battery. Please advise, otherwise it’s very cold now and you need to carry a small child. Thanks in advance.
Sincerely ! Nikolai.

Re: VAZ-2108 stove does not work
Greetings! Well, firstly, it wouldn’t hurt to use the search; a similar topic already exists here.
As for the problem - firstly, it’s worth looking at whether +12V is coming to the stove at all (this is a yellow wire with a blue stripe on the switch); if everything is OK here, we move on. when you turn on each of the three positions on one of the contacts of the block going to the additional. The resistor should appear +12v.
It’s also worth looking - just above this resistor there is a block of the stove motor itself. While they were kicking the stove they could have hit...
Yes, the fuse is also worth looking at... F7, I think.

Re: VAZ-2108 stove does not work
Thank you very much. Especially about the fuse. And I also wanted to ask how to measure the voltage? The positive probe from the multimeter goes to the positive wire, and where does the negative probe go? To the ground of the fan electric motor or to any place in the body?

The VAZ 2114 heater fan does not work for reasons.
Hello. If you start the car in severe frost or on a hot summer day, and the heater fan on the VAZ 2114 stops working and does not blow, do not be upset, as this problem can be quickly solved by reading this article. In order to understand the reasons why the stove fan may not work, let's first look at the electrical diagram for connecting the stove motor.
Heater fan diagram for VAZ 2114, 2115, 2113.
And so, here is a list of all components of the scheme:
- Mounting block (aka fuse block).
- Egnition lock.
- Ignition switch relief relay.
- Heater fan speed switch.
- Additional resistors.
- Stove motor.
- Rear window heating switch with warning lamp.
- Rear window heating element.
The scheme works as follows. When you turn the key in the ignition switch (2), its unloading relay (3) is turned on. The unloading relay supplies power to fuse f7 in the mounting block (1). After the fuse, power goes to the rear window heating switch (7) and the fan speed switch (4), which distributes which of the resistors (5) the power will go to next. Output 1 from the switch (4) corresponds to the slowest blowing speed, and output 3 goes directly to the heater motor (6), i.e. highest blowing speed.
Reasons why the VAZ 2114, 2115, 2113 heater motor does not work.
The reasons why a fresh flow of cold air in summer or a hot stream in winter does not come from the air ducts of your VAZ 2113, 2114, 2115 can be of two types:
- mechanical
- electric
Let's look at them in more detail.
Mechanical reasons why the VAZ 2114, 2115, 2113 heater fan does not work.
First of all, mechanical reasons include clogging of the air duct.
As you can see in the photo, leaves, branches and other debris get under the casing and clog the air duct of the heater motor. Debris can get into the section with the blades itself and jam the stove fan. Usually before this, a whistle or grinding noise is heard from under the soot space.
Mechanical reasons for the inoperability of the stove motor include jamming of the blades due to improper installation of the stove fan housing. When removing the stove motor, the latches securing the two parts of the housing are often damaged. And if these parts are not firmly fixed to each other, then there will be a gap between them and the air flow that should go into the cabin will fall into this gap. Also, parts of the housing may generally jam the motor blades, then it will not spin at all.
Problems with the heater fan from the electrical part.
In this section, we will consider the circuit to the VAZ heater fan by components.
Fuse.
Let's follow the scheme given at the beginning of the post. If your heater fan does not work together with the heated rear window, then the problem is 100% in the fuse. Check fuse f7 in the mounting block , if it is ok, then use a multimeter to see if the plus is coming to it from the ignition switch unloading relay. To do this, with the ignition on, place one multimeter probe on the fuse and the other on the car body. If everything is in order, look at the circuit from the fuse to the speed switch and the heating switch.
Heater fan speed switch.
We figured out the fuse - let's move on. And then we have the stove motor speed switch . To check it, remove the connector from it. The connector has three inputs nearby and one is located, as if separately from them. We connect any of these three inputs with a wire to the one that stands separately. If the motor starts working, then the speed switch is to blame; if not, we move on.
Additional resistors.
If the fan works, but only at the third (fastest) speed, then additional resistors . In the third mode, power is supplied directly to the fan, bypassing additional resistors, so it does not work in other modes.
Internal structure and principle of operation
The heating system installed on the VAZ-2109 has its own differences and features compared to other cars in the AvtoVAZ line.
The heater consists of a pair of plastic casings (on the right and on the left), which are connected to each other along the entire perimeter with clamping brackets. A special flagellum is placed in the grooves of the casings to seal it well. The fan supplies air flow to the interior of the machine. Stove
The VAZ-2109 is designed so that the fan can be easily removed independently from the engine compartment.

An electric motor of type 45.37230 is attached to the casing, and a fan is located on its shaft. To obtain its desired speed, Renault provided additional resistance. It was attached to the left side of the hole in the heater casing using a screw.
