VAZ 2106 turn signals do not work, emergency lights work

Special cases

If there are many lanes on the road, then maneuvers are carried out as follows:

Did not find an answer to your question? Call a lawyer! Moscow: +7 (499) 110-89-42 Moscow St. Petersburg: +7 (812) 385-56-34
  1. Turn right - from the far right lane to the far right lane of the cross road.
  2. Turn left and make a U-turn - from the leftmost lane to any lane intended for traffic in a given direction (not to the oncoming lane).

Special cases include meeting vehicles with flashing lights and a sound signal turned on. If such a car is driving, then you should let it pass, and perform the maneuver only if it does not interfere with the passage of the vehicle.

What happens if you are not convinced of the safety of the maneuver and violate the traffic rules?

If the driver is not convinced of the safety of the maneuver being performed, as dictated by the traffic rules, he risks becoming the culprit of an accident, and if the circumstances are successful, he may be fined or deprived of his driving license. The penalty depends on the type of violation committed, but most often Art. 12.14 of the Code of Administrative Offenses is applied:

  • for an unlit turn signal - a fine of 500 rubles;
  • for performing a turn or turn not from the extreme position - 1500 rubles;
  • for turning around or driving in reverse where it is prohibited - 500 rubles;
  • for ignoring the priority of other cars or a tram when performing a maneuver - 500 rubles.

We recommend reading about the reversal rules. From the article you will learn about the types of turns in a car, making a turn in accordance with traffic regulations, prohibited places for maneuver, and fines for violation. And here is more information about how to avoid accidents when changing lanes.

The ability to start, brake, or drive straight is not enough to be a driver.

It is very important not only to learn how to maneuver, but to know where it is done, how to make a turn, turn, or overtake as safely as possible. The use of skills is necessary not for the sake of obtaining a license, but to get the car to the right place, preserving your health and life

Symptoms of a faulty turn relay

Turn signals, as well as the relay that ensures their correct operation, make it possible to minimize the risks of

The failure of the turn relay may be indicated by the following symptoms, which can actually be identified even without experience and diagnostic work:

  • The turn signals do not blink, but stay on continuously. This indicates a breakdown of the electromagnet, which is stuck in one of two positions. Most likely, the relay may need to be replaced;
  • The turn signal lamps flicker too quickly or, on the contrary, too slowly. This problem may be caused by incorrectly selected power of the light sources, however, it does not hurt to check the functionality of the relay;
  • The turn signals don't work at all. It is quite possible that the cause of the breakdown is a burnt-out light bulb, a broken electrical contact, or a failed fuse. But if all these parts work normally, the problem lies in the turn relay.

Finding out that the device is not working is not difficult at all. If you do not hear characteristic clicks when you turn on the turn signals, then most likely the relay has failed and requires urgent replacement.

Almost all the electrics failed.

Tonight I drive up to the house and bam. Almost everything is cut off, even the engine has stalled. I drive on my own to the parking lot.

I'm checking the losses. Only the interior lighting works (lights in the pillars, in the glove compartment), battery charge lamp, oil pressure lamp, brake light, turn signals and emergency lights, and horn. Nothing else works. The fuses are all intact. By the way, the starter doesn’t turn over either, but it starts with the pushrod. Then the lights in the pillars, the horn and stoplights stopped working.

The day before it happened that after a long trip, after turning off the ignition, the starter continued to turn. I took off the weight, let the starter cool, there was a slight click and everything was fine.

Removing the mass from the battery did not help, but I noticed that when you connected the negative wire to the battery there was a spark, now it is gone.

What's the first thing to watch? I was just going to the service center tomorrow (for a different reason), I just had to get there.

    Early in the morning I climbed into the car. I started looking at the battery terminals. She's fine. The mains switch has nothing to do with it either. The mounting block is also ok. Removed the ignition switch. And there the contact group is melted (plastic). The slider doesn’t touch the plate. I think I’ll do everything right now. I decided not to skimp and buy the entire ignition switch. I bought a DAAZ lock. I hooked it up, now the starter turns, the turn signals and brake lights work and that’s it. It starts by the way. Moreover, on the old lock I found a position (between 0 and 1) in which everything works except the starter.

    On a new lock, during startup (i.e. when you turn the starter), the wiper relay clicks and the wipers move jerkily (are the wires connected incorrectly). And yet, if you directly close the wires responsible for the dimensions and wipers, then it all works. Is the castle jamb?

    So what's now? What ideas will there be?

    Self-diagnosis of car lighting devices

    There are several situations in which you can determine that optics need diagnostics:

    1. The turns do not flash, but light up. Such a malfunction indicates the failure of the relay, in particular, we are talking about its electromagnetic component. The electromagnet itself could close in one of the positions, as a result of which it cannot return to its initial state.
    2. The turning lights flash very quickly or very slowly. In this case, the problem may lie not only in the relay. In some cases, this type of malfunction occurs when the driver uses inappropriate lighting sources. So when purchasing new light bulbs, you need to make sure that they correspond to the rating set by the car manufacturer.
    3. The optics don't work at all. That is, the turning light bulbs do not flicker, and the corresponding indicators on the dashboard also do not light up. In addition, there are no characteristic clicks that appear when turning on the turning lights. With such symptoms, there can be many reasons for the problem; we will tell you more about their diagnosis below (the author of the video is the Steel Horse channel).

    As for diagnostics, it is performed in several stages:

    1. First of all, you need to make sure that all sensors and indicators on the device are working. If they do not function, then it is necessary to diagnose the safety devices.
    2. If all devices are operating in normal mode, then you next need to turn on the light alarm button and diagnose all light sources in the headlights. That is, check the front, rear, and side (if any) lights.
    3. If the alarm does not function when activated, you need to check the functionality of the relay, and also check the power supply at the terminals. To do this, remove the relay from its mounting location, and then, using a test light, connect one of its contacts to the installation site (to the positive), and the other to the car body or battery. There is no need to turn on the ignition. If there is no power, then most likely the reason lies in a failed safety device, a broken hazard warning button, or a damaged electrical circuit. Also, the essence of the problem may lie in poor contact in the connecting plugs.
    4. If there is a plus on the contacts, then try shorting the two relay terminals using copper wiring. If all electrical circuits, as well as the connection plugs, are working properly, then all turn signals should light up. In this case, the fault must be looked for in the relay.
    5. If the lights do not light up after the steps you have performed, then most likely the cause of the malfunction lies in the emergency light control button. However, in practice this happens quite rarely; there is often a short circuit in the circuit. By the way, it is a short circuit that can lead to a breakdown of the relay, therefore, before replacing the failed element, you need to eliminate the short circuit.
    6. If the emergency signal is functioning, this indicates that the safety devices and relays are working; accordingly, you need to start diagnosing the button itself. First of all, you need to diagnose the positive terminal, as in the case of checking the relay, while the ignition, as well as the hazard warning button, must be activated. If the diagnostics showed that there is no plus, this indicates that the button itself needs to be checked in more detail. Remove it from its seat and check the connection circuit. If there is no power, then you need to look for a break in the wiring from the tidy to the button itself. If there is power, then it will be necessary to short-circuit the terminals at the installation site, the ignition does not turn off, after which the direction indicators must be activated (on either side). When the lighting sources are turned on, the control button must be replaced, but if there is no power, then you need to check the power in the emergency relay. If there is no power, the problem most likely lies in a break in the connecting electrical circuit from the control key to the block with safety devices.

    Do-it-yourself repair of direction indicators and hazard alarms

    If the turns disappear, as well as the car’s emergency signal, then you can try to solve this problem yourself:

    1. If the safety element and relay break down, the failed parts must be replaced. If the reason lies in a short circuit, then before replacing it is necessary to check all electrical circuits in which it could occur. Only after the cause of the short circuit and power surges has been eliminated, the devices need to be changed.
    2. If the hazard warning button is faulty, you just need to replace it. We have already talked about how to diagnose this part.
    3. As for electrical circuit diagnostics, it is carried out using a tester. If damaged sections of the wire are identified, they must be replaced. When laying them, make sure that the wiring does not come into contact with moving body elements. It is also recommended to additionally insulate new wires to increase the reliability of the insulation.
    4. If the reason is the light bulbs, then all burnt out light sources must be replaced. In the front and rear headlights, the lamps are changed by removing the protection from the headlights, disconnecting the power circuit from the lamp, as well as unscrewing the light source from the seat and replacing it with a new one. If the lamps in the side headlights do not work, then, as a rule, to dismantle the lighting sources, the lamp itself must be pryed off with a screwdriver, then disconnect the power cord and remove the device.
    5. If the reason lies in the steering column switch, then this device needs to be disassembled and checked. As a rule, the cause of switch failure is poor contact or abrasion. In this case, the failed switch is replaced with a new one. As for the contacts (no matter where - on connections or buttons), it is advisable to clean them.
    6. You should also check all the plugs and connectors, because it is quite possible that the problem is poor contact on them. Acidified contacts must be cleaned with a wire brush or sandpaper. If the contacts are burnt out, they will need to be replaced.

    Reasons for failure of turn signals and emergency lights

    As you know, the circuit of direction indicators and hazard warning lights is tied, since both functions are performed by the same headlights. If for some reason the hazard lights are working, but the turn signals are not, or neither the turns nor the warning lights are on, this can lead to an emergency situation on the road.

    For what reasons did these elements stop working:

    1. Fuse failure is one of the most common problems. If the car is additionally equipped with a relay that is responsible for the operation of these optical elements, then the problem may lie there. Depending on the car model, the relay may be located separately from the main fuse block; use the diagram to find the failed part.
    2. Short circuit in the system. Because of this, when turning on the turning lights, the emergency lights turn on or the optics do not respond to the driver’s commands at all. To diagnose the problem, you will need a tester, as well as the skills of an electrician.
    3. Failure of the lighting source. In other words, the light bulb has burned out.
    4. Open circuit. This problem is relevant for many car owners of older cars. If the wires are laid in a place where there are moving elements, then over time it will fray and lose its insulation, which will generally lead to damage to the electrical circuit.
    5. Failure of a button or steering column switch. In this case, it is necessary to carry out more thorough diagnostics of the switch, as well as the connection button.

    Electronic relay device

    To better understand the operating principle of an electronic relay, it is better to understand the features of an electromagnetic-thermal relay. Here's an example: in the first device there is a nichrome thread, but in the second its functions are performed by an electronic key. All electronic relays can be divided into two components:

    1. Directly an electromagnetic relay responsible for closing and opening the circuit;
    2. An electronic key that ensures that the relay operates at a strictly defined frequency.

    The above electronic key is based on a microcircuit or many transistors, also called discrete elements in professional language. This basis forms the control circuits and the master oscillator. And all for the sake of one thing: supplying and removing voltage from the winding of an electromagnetic relay already familiar to us.

    The system works relatively simply. As soon as voltage is applied to the relay, the master generator is switched on. It generates control pulses of a certain frequency, which are supplied to the control circuit. The latter supply or interrupt the current coming from the relay winding. When current flows in the winding, the relay armature is attracted, thereby closing a pair of contact groups. At this moment, the direction indicators and warning light come on. As soon as the current stops its action, the armature moves back to its initial position and both contact groups open. Electronic relays have nevertheless replaced their electromagnetic-thermal “brothers”. There are several reasons for this, which are discussed below. In the meantime, we advise you to pay attention to the image - this is the simplest circuit in which a turn relay is implemented. Understanding the circuit will be helpful when repairing a broken relay.

    The fact is that electronic relays are practically not subject to the influence of both external and internal factors. Their electromagnetic-thermal predecessors became very hot over time, which led to changes in the parameters of individual conductive elements. In addition, electronic relays consume very little energy - in the case of heating a nichrome thread, much more energy was required. Such a relay is simply more reliable and is easy to integrate into an alarm system.

    Traffic Laws

    Let's see who the driver and pedestrian are within the framework of the Road Traffic Rules.

    Please note, “driving” the vehicle and “driving” the vehicle. For example, as soon as a cyclist leaves the saddle of a bicycle, he becomes a pedestrian and when driving a bicycle he has all the responsibilities of a pedestrian, and when driving a bicycle - the responsibilities of a driver.

    Definition of a pedestrian crossing:

    In this definition, o, which mean that a pedestrian crossing can be marked either by markings together with signs, or separately, either by signs or markings.

    Read this definition carefully; many traffic police officers interpret it not in your favor.

    Both the pedestrian and the driver are equal road users.

    Dangerous moments during maneuvers

    Maneuvering always carries danger, mostly resulting from driver inattention and miscommunication. To avoid a collision, you should always warn about your further actions in advance.

    Likewise, you need to keep an eye on what other motorists are going to do. You should always keep your distance from other cars so that you don’t drive into a vehicle during sudden or emergency braking.

    The danger when driving backwards is that blind spots may occur. In this case, you need to resort to the help of third parties, that is, ask a person to orient you from the street

    In any case, such a maneuver requires caution and slowness. It’s better to get out of the car and look around than to repair the car.

    The Magnificent Six: why the VAZ-2106 was the best Zhiguli model

    Among the whole variety of rear-wheel drive VAZ cars, every true “Zhigulista” has his own favorite model: some like naive round-headed “kopecks”, others love the more angular cars of the fifth family, others are generally “crazy” for station wagons... However, a significant part of the fans Tolyatti classics are confident that the VAZ-2106 is “the best Zhiguli of all time,” the pinnacle of the rear-wheel drive line of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant. The most varied arguments are given. We will try to put these puzzles together into a single picture, which will help answer yes or no to the question: were the “six” really the best, and why?

    A little history

    The successive Zhiguli model with the “working” index VAZ-21031 (similar to the VAZ-21011) was supposed to become a modernized “three-ruble note”, which we remembered quite recently . If the VAZ-2103 was positioned as a luxury version of the regular Zhiguli, then the “six” was supposed to become an even more comfortable and dynamic version of the “troika” itself. So to speak, complete luxury.

    At the same time, the designers still did not have carte blanche for a serious modernization of the body - as in the case of the “three-ruble note”, they were only allowed to slightly modify the front and rear parts. At the same time, the new car had to get rid of the “patina of the sixties” - more angular lines and significant use of plastic parts in decoration were rapidly coming into fashion. In addition, the designers had to solve the opposite problem in this way - a more “luxurious” model had to be made cheaper at cost than the previous one, abandoning complex and expensive parts to produce, such as the radiator grille framing the optics and bumpers with L-shaped ends.

    The VAZ designers coped with their task “excellently,” which we will talk about a little later and in more detail. In the meantime, a little chronology. The first “six” was assembled at the end of 1975, and mass production of the VAZ-2106 began in February 1976. In December of the same year, the “six” became the three millionth car produced in Tolyatti, and in June 1978 – the four millionth. A year later, the “six” was also noted as the millionth Soviet car delivered to the countries of the Union for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA).

    Modification for the German market from the importer Deutsche Lada

    Like previous models, the “six” was also produced with right-hand drive

    At the Volzhsky Automobile Plant, the sixth model was produced until 2001 - that is, exactly a quarter of a century. And in 1998, famous for its default, the “geography of distribution of the six” became more extensive, because its production was partially transferred to other enterprises - first to Syzran, and then to the IzhAvto enterprise in Izhevsk, where it was produced until the end of 2005. Thus, the “six” was produced at different car factories for a total of exactly thirty years - one of the longest assembly line lifespans for a specific model. Of course, the production process was not without upgrades and updates, which did not always benefit the car itself. And yet, how did the “six” manage to earn such love and respect from Soviet and Russian motorists? After all, cars with characteristic plastic “glasses” around four round headlights have produced no less than four million copies over three decades - again, almost a record figure for one specific model.

    Technique

    VAZ designers V. Antipin and V. Pashko were able to really modernize the “three-ruble note” using minimal means, making its appearance stricter, more laconic and at the same time “fashionable”.

    Braking and acceleration lanes

    Braking and accelerating lanes are formed by widening the roadway near intersections, public transport stops or turning points on a road with a dividing strip.

    They are separated from the rest of the stripes by a wide broken line marking 1.8. The longest acceleration and braking lanes are located on highways - their length can reach 100 meters.

    If there is a braking lane, a driver intending to turn, turn around or stop must, without reducing speed, change lanes to this lane and slow down his vehicle only in this lane.

    Thus, he will free up the previously occupied lane for those who are behind him and intend to continue moving at the same speed in the forward direction.

    If there is an acceleration lane at the entrance to the road, the driver must turn into it, pick up speed in this lane and join the traffic flow at the end of the acceleration lane, without interfering with those moving along the remaining lanes of the roadway.

    LOOKING FOR DAMAGE WITH YOUR OWN HANDS

    Primary diagnostics can be carried out with a test light, but a tester is required to check the condition of the circuit. If you know how to use a multimeter, then in resistance measurement mode you can independently “ring” the wiring for a break.

    If you clearly hear the relay clicking when you turn on the right/left turn signal, check the resistance of the section of the circuit with the steering column switch. If only the left or right side does not work, the reason is definitely in the switch or in the wiring of the circuit from it to the light bulbs.

    If the turn signal relay does not click at all, check the condition of the contacts, the positive wire and ground. If, after turning on the ignition, “+” does not come to the relay, the problem is most likely in the section of the circuit from the mounting block to the relay.

    UNDERSTEERING'S SHIFTER

    The cause of the malfunction can be either mechanical damage to plastic or contact elements, or the formation of carbon deposits. During operation of the turn signals, the contacts may burn out, which increases the resistance and reduces the current in the circuit. It is typical that in the case of oxides and carbon deposits, the indicator relay may click, but the lamps will not light up.

    To repair the steering column switch, you will need to remove it from the steering column and disassemble it. There are many contact pads inside the case, so for trouble-free assembly, remember the location of all moving elements.

    WHERE IS AND HOW TO CHECK THE TURN SIGNAL RELAY

    The turn signal relay is located in the fuse box in the passenger compartment or under the hood. You can find out the exact location from the repair and operation manual of your car. Often on the inside of the mounting block the purpose of the relays and fuses is graphically depicted.

    Soldering of elements from the circuit, microcracks in solder joints, failure of the main microcircuit are the most common causes of turn signal failure.

    EMERGENCY

    The hazard warning button imitates the steering column turn switch, but closes both contacts at once (on the right and left sides). The video shows the design and operating principle of a simple system, analogues of which are used not only on VAZ cars.

    During the operation of the vehicle, malfunctions associated with electrical equipment may appear. One of these troubles is the failure of the turn signal system, usually associated with. We will try to look at what the turn signal system consists of, the most common faults and answer the question of what to do if the turn signals do not work.

    Turn signals are a key part of road safety.

    Their use lets drivers know your intentions so they can make appropriate decisions and maneuver wisely. The first turn signals appeared in the form of special arrows, activated by a special mechanism and indicating the direction of movement of the car. After that, the system was improved and instead of primitive signs and indicators, the first lamps appeared, which made the driver’s work easier and distracted him less from driving. Those turn signals that we are used to seeing appeared in the 30s of the last century and were used in the form of special lamps located on the wings or bumper of a car. Over time, this has become an essential component of any car and its serviceability must be fully maintained.

    VAZ turn signal relay - do-it-yourself diagnostics and replacement

    Turn signals are perhaps a very important part of any vehicle. Carrying out maneuvers on the road becomes quite a dangerous task if the turn signals do not work. The VAZ 2107 turn signal and hazard warning relay is responsible for the correct operation of the direction indicators. This device is used on all cars of the classic family. Let's consider why a turn signal relay is needed, how is a relay malfunction determined and how is it replaced?

    Purpose of the turn signal and hazard warning relays

    Everyone knows that direction indicators and hazard warning lights blink during operation. This is necessary in order to attract the attention of other traffic participants. The flickering of lamps cannot be confused with any other signal supplied by lighting devices. A small device called a turn signal relay . In addition to the blinking of the turn signals, the relay provides another function - creating the necessary sound signal (click), which indicates that the turn signals are in operation.

    The Zhiguli used two types of relays, which differ both in their design and in their operating principle.

    • The first type is electromagnetic type relay, which is mounted in the engine compartment of the car. The basis for the operation of the electromagnetic thermal relay is a special nichrome string, which, when heated and cooled, closes and opens the direction indicator circuit. These types of relays were used on early models of the “classic” family: VAZ 2101-2102 and VAZ 2103.

    • The second type of relay began to be used on VAZ 2106 and higher vehicles. It is an electronic circuit built on semiconductor circuit elements. In addition to semiconductors, the relay also includes an electromagnet, which performs the functions of closing and opening. The frequency of operation of the electromagnet (or flickering of lamps) is achieved using a “key”, or a special electronic circuit.

    Diagnostics of malfunction of the direction indicator relay VAZ 2107

    If one day the turn signals stopped working. It's time to check what happened and, if possible, replace the faulty part of the circuit. Malfunctions of the turn signal relay can be recognized by several signs:

    • The turn signals light up but do not flicker . This directly indicates a breakdown of the relay, or rather, its electromagnetic part. In this case, the electromagnet has closed in one of the positions and cannot return to its original state.
    • The turn signals blink too quickly or too slowly . This can happen, but not only due to the fault of the turn signal relay. Sometimes the flickering speed of lamps can change if the turn signals use lamps that are not of the same power as those specified by the manufacturer. However, it wouldn't hurt to install a new relay as a test.
    • The turn signals don't work at all . This means that the turn signal lamps and the lamp on the dashboard do not blink and there are no corresponding relay clicks. However, as in the second case, the malfunction does not always concern the turn signal relay. Sometimes the reason is a faulty hazard warning button.

    Replacing turn signal and hazard warning relays (+ Video)

    After detecting any of the listed malfunctions, the turn signal relay must be replaced. Depending on the modification (carburetor or injector), the location of the breaker relay may differ noticeably. Carburetor VAZ 2107 vehicles require installation of the relay behind the dashboard in the vehicle interior. However, starting with an injection engine, the relay can be located in a mounting block in the engine compartment.

    In order to remove the relay located in the mounting block, you just need to pry it up and pull it up. After this, a new element is installed in its place.

    In the case of a relay located behind the panel, things are much more complicated. Before removing the relay, you must pry the dashboard using a screwdriver and remove it. If the length of the wires allows, you can pull it a certain distance, but if they are too short, it is recommended to pull out the plugs and unscrew the speedometer drive cable. Set the panel aside and disconnect the contact wires from the relay. Now unscrew the ground from the breaker and remove it. Install a new one in place of the old relay and insert the contact wires into it. After this, assemble the dashboard and install it in its original place. This completes the replacement of the turn signal relay.

    That's all you need to know about the turn signal relay.

    Keep calm

    You must try to remain calm and cool in all situations. There are situations, especially in limited space, when you have limited your passage while maneuvering and they start honking at you and rushing you. If you start fussing and reacting, you will most likely get into an accident and block the passage.

    When a person fusses or is embarrassed to show his inexperience, he begins to frantically make a bunch of mistakes: confuses gears, pedals, turns in the wrong direction, turns the steering wheel in the wrong direction, over-throttles, misjudges the situation, etc.

    I think no one wants to stand, wait for the traffic police and waste time on the court. If anything happens, everyone will wait.

    If someone honks and swears furiously, then explain to them the consequences. If he wants to speed up the process, then let him help.

    Do not be shy

    Don't be shy to ask for help. This applies not only to novice drivers, but also to experienced ones, thereby you and those around you will avoid a fairly large number of problems.

    When maneuvering in a confined space, do not hesitate to get out of the car 10 times and make sure that you do not hit anything. If necessary, ask someone for help. Before you start maneuvering, try to explain to your assistant what exactly you want from him. You must make sure that the assistant understands the task correctly. If he misunderstands what exactly you want from him, then you may get into an accident.

    The turn signals are frequent, what is the reason?

    Tell me people, the turn signals are flashing frequently, I checked all the lamps - they are intact, I checked the contacts in the sockets, everything is ok, I'm already exhausted! And when I turn on the emergency lights, all the lamps work at normal intervals. I haven’t been able to cope with this for two weeks now, although it seems like everything should be simple. I don’t understand, the same relay works for both the turn signals and the emergency lights, why then do they blink differently? In general, some kind of devilry. Thanks everyone for the tips!

    I had this happen with all the whole lamps, but there was something shorting in one socket. As it turned out, the wiring was frayed.

    The power circuits are different and the fuses are also different. And there are two switches, one is a turn signal relay, the second is a hazard warning relay, both are involved in the process.

    If everything is fine with the lamps, the problem is in the turn signal relay itself. Take it apart or, better yet, replace it; it costs pennies.

    The relay is set to a certain resistance of the circuit, if it is more than necessary, then it will scribble, which means we need to look for the reasons why the resistance is increased ! Very often these are lamps of small value, even more often there is poor contact in lamps due to oxides or creases in the wiring, in connections with relays, wherever wiring goes to turn signals. Although the emergency light operates from the same two relays, it powers six light bulbs at once and the turn signal only three, so the emergency light clicks at a normal interval. All turning patterns for all cars are the same, and the automatic transmission button and turn relay can be taken for testing from any car.

    You need to know that in any car there are always two power circuits and two fuses for turn signals. One fuse is for the turn signal breaker relay, the second is for the hazard warning switch. Oxidation of one of these fuses (which often happens) increases the overall resistance of the circuit and therefore both branches right/left will be stitched. The turn relay itself is sealed and rarely fails, but the hazard warning switch sometimes burns out its contacts. Well, all lamp sockets need to be inspected and cleaned; oxides in one of the sockets on the side will give the same effect.

    Thanks to everyone for the tips, today turned out to be a freer day and I want to look into the problem a little, I’ll look at the contacts. fuses, it turns out that if both the left and right turn signals blink frequently, it means they have a common problem, I’ll start with the power supply, fuses and relays, and then we’ll see.

    Also pay attention to the ground wires, there are usually several around the headlights/turn signals, a ground wire to the engine and at the back near the stops there are also ground wires! One of them will oxidize and the same story will happen: the turns will scribble.

    Exactly, a good ground contact makes sense; if it is bad, then the resistance for the relay is greater, which means it will blink more often.

    Based on the degree of probability, the main causes of the problem can be identified

    1 — Loss of contact on ground wires

    2 - Lamp malfunction

    3 - Deterioration of contacts in terminals, sockets and connectors

    4 - Deterioration of contacts in safety blocks

    5 - Changes in the characteristics of lamps in turn signals over time

    6 — Malfunction of the turn relay or hazard warning switch

    You should use this list to look for the cause of the problem, otherwise, despite its apparent simplicity, you can quickly get confused.

    The reason may be that a home-grown master dug around and messed with the wiring. Finding this place is very difficult.

    Transition from an electromagnetic-thermal relay to an electronic one.

    This “barrel” is located under the dashboard of a car. This is an electromagnetic thermal relay. Due to short-term operation (1-2 months), it is recommended to replace it with an electronic one. After this time, it begins to burn or shorts out.

    The following are the steps to replace it:

    • disconnect the contact terminals;
    • We mark each wire with a marker, or use paint to highlight it in different colors;
    • contact No. 1 of the electronic relay is connected to the wire with the x sign;
    • Contact No. 2 of the electronic relay is connected to the wire marked L;
    • contact No. 3 of the electronic relay is connected to the wire marked P;
    • Contact No. 4 is ground, we connect it to a separate wire.

    All this work must be carried out when using heat shrink.

    The replacement of incandescent lamps with LEDs in direction indicators is gaining great popularity due to the fact that incandescent lamps are much inferior to LED lamps in terms of service life and light output.

    Malfunctions of turn signals VAZ 2107

    The main symptom of a malfunction is non-functioning direction indicators. However, the reason may not be only the relay. There are several possible breakdowns:

    • The turn signal lamps are constantly on and do not blink. This indicates a malfunction of the electromagnetic part of the VAZ 2107 turn signal relay - the contacts are stuck in the closed position and do not open. This could be either a burnt-out contact of the electromagnetic relay or a failure of the electronic circuit of the turn relay. Regardless of the specific reason, there is only one way out - replacing the VAZ 2107 turn signal relay.
    • Lights flash too slowly or quickly. The reason may be either in the electronic part of the turn relay or in the discrepancy between the current consumption of the lamps and the nominal one. If one of the lamps has burned out or lamps that consume less current are installed, the turns will flash more often than necessary. The same phenomenon occurs if the wire going to one of the lamps is broken, or the lamp socket or base is oxidized. A similar phenomenon occurs when installing LED lamps instead of incandescent lamps. When installing more powerful lamps, the blinking frequency decreases. If all the lamps are in working order and the malfunction did not appear after replacing the lamps, the reason lies precisely in the turn relay or poor contacts in the lamp power circuit.
    • The direction indicator lamps do not light up. The cause of the malfunction may be a broken turn switch, a burnt-out (faulty) turn relay, an open circuit, or a blown fuse. It is better to start checking from the last one

    VAZ2105 stopped working, the right rear turn signal in front works. When you turn it on, the engine starts to heat up and the fuses light up. Tried the emergency lights, same situation. the left one works. what to do

    Hello, my 2106 has lost turns, I turn on the emergency lights, they light up but don’t blink, tell me what could be wrong

    Hello, please tell me I can’t find the reason. on the panel there is no sign of a light turning. But when you turn it on, it works and the emergency lights also work. The relay clicks and the light does not shine on the panel. How to find out the reason, thanks in advance.

    Thank you)) helped me get home on a jig))

    Hello Vyacheslav, I have a Niva 2121, produced in 1980, with an 8-pin emergency button. I want to install a 6-pin one, like you have on your car, how do I connect it correctly? Waiting for your answer please!

    When my emergency lights are turned on, the instruments and turn signals do not work

    You are simply a Super Master from God. You explain everything very clearly and clearly about this common problem. Tell me, have you tried to repair the steering column switch, is it repairable?

    I have a VAZ 2107. The hazard warning lights and the left turn signal work, but the right one does not. What is the reason?

    Good day. That's the problem. The turn signal lamp shines at a lower frequency in the high beam when the ignition is on. If you drive for a long time on the far one, the signal disappears, unless you switch to the near one and back. As soon as I turn the dimensions, the turn control blinks once. Help

    thanks saved me time.

    and here I am, the father of the girl who wrote to you about my problem with the turn signals on the VAZ 2103: the turns themselves work, but when I turn on the side lights or headlights, the turns light up constantly. What do you recommend doing in this situation?

    Hello, my dad has a VAZ 2103 and the car has this problem: the turn signals work, but when you turn on the side lights or headlights, the turn signals glow with a constant light, which is not normal. Please tell me what needs to be done, otherwise our auto electricians don’t want to delve into old Lada cars. Thank you in advance.

    Please tell me about this problem. VAZ-2107, when turning on the right turn or emergency lights, the turn relay heats up and the turn relay lights up, before that the fuse burned out. Left turn works fine. It's short somewhere, but I can't figure out where.

    There is a fuse in the circuit there.

    To help prevent all turns from turning and crashing, only the light bulb in the device does not shine, so you can tell it to work.

    Turn relay for VAZ 2107 – where is it located and how to change it

    Replacing the turn signal relay!

    And so, the turn signal relay is kaput! Fortunately, it costs 70 rubles in total) I drove without turn signals for 4 days! Well, there was no time to stop by to buy... It turns out to be very difficult without turn signals)

    Well, it means I was passing by a car shop, and I thought, let me stop by and buy it! I bought it, I get into the car and think, fuck! and the relay is in the dashboard itself!

    Without thinking for a long time, in the same parking lot at the auto store, I begin to remove the instrument panel! I jerked off that summer with this tidy, so 2 minutes and it was completely removed!

    The panel is removed, and our treasured relay is hidden in the left corner.

    and at the same time I removed the steering casing, and removed (broke) this crap that turns the turn signal back on, it was crap and sometimes wouldn’t let me turn on the turn signal!

    I used these tools! I also wanted to remove the steering wheel with a 24 wrench xD but it wouldn’t unscrew (it was tightened well at the wheel alignment) and I don’t have a spanner!

    I put everything back together the way it was!

    I also moved the mafon upstairs! otherwise it’s hard to hit the neighboring knees on the flash drive!

    and then I’ll close the bottom hole with a pocket!

    and here's another armrest! Convenient thing!

    and all this in 10-15 minutes))

    That's it! put “Like” and scroll further!)))

    Replacing the turn relay VAZ 2107

    Electric turn signals first appeared in the late thirties of the last century on the American Buick Roadmaster.

    In Russia, or rather in the Soviet Union, the first car with external turn signals was the ZIS-110, the production of which began immediately after the end of the Second World War (Great Patriotic War).

    From that time to the present day, all motor vehicles have turned indicator lights. They are intended to inform drivers and pedestrians near the car about making a turn, U-turn or other maneuver.

    According to the traffic rules, if the direction indicators do not work, then the exit and movement of a mechanical vehicle is prohibited, as this threatens with emergency consequences. The device on vehicles that controls the turning lights can also sometimes fail. The causes of breakdowns are different. Basically this is a burnout of light bulbs, a blown fuse in the control circuit. There is also a breakdown of one of the main devices in the circuit, the turn relay.

    If you slow down and ram the culprit

    Art. 10.1 The traffic rules do not give clear recommendations on what is better to do - ram the danger when braking or try to dodge. But judicial practice shows that if you ram the culprit during emergency braking, there is a good chance in the end to prove that you are right.

    The driver will be guilty only if he rammed an obstacle or hit an obstacle and did not brake for any reason.

    The pedestrian's fault does not relieve the driver of responsibility

    A classic example is pedestrians who violate crossing rules. They can often pop up in the most unexpected places. At the same time, the pedestrian’s guilt does not relieve the driver of responsibility, especially if the passerby injured in the accident died. In this case, the driver may face a prison sentence or a large fine.

    VAZ 2106 | Checking the direction indicators and hazard warning light system

    Checking the direction indicators and hazard warning light system

    The hazard warning light system must always be in working order, so it is supplied with current from the power wire “3” (red) directly from the “plus” of the battery. The turn signals receive power only when the ignition is on through the ignition switch from terminal 9 through fuse No. 6.

    1. With the ignition off, press the right pushbutton switch above the heating switch on the instrument panel.
    2. All turn signals and the red warning light on the instrument panel should flash at the same rhythm.
    3. Turn off the hazard lights. Turn off and turn on the ignition.
    4. When the turn signal lever is pressed, the turn indicators on one side should light up in the same rhythm, and the warning light on the dashboard should flash.

    Trouble-shooting

    Turn signal and hazard warning lights

    Malfunction Cause of malfunction
    A. The green turn signal indicator light flashes very quickly and the hazard warning lights flash at a normal rate.The bulb is faulty or there is no contact.
    B. The direction indicator lights in the car and warning lamps when turning and turning on the hazard lights stay on for a long time or do not light up at all. Light relay is faulty.

    C. When turning, the direction indicator lights are on, but the hazard warning lights do not work. 1. The red wire (terminal 3) between the push-button switch and the battery is faulty. 2. The connector behind the dashboard is incorrectly connected or damaged. 3. The hazard warning light switch is faulty.

    D. The hazard warning lights work, but the turn signal does not illuminate when turning.

    1. The purple wire (terminal 5) between the combination switch and the light relay is broken. 2. See C 2 and 3.

    E. The turn signal lights do not illuminate when the hazard warning lights are on or when turning.

    1. Fuse No. 6 is faulty. 2. See C 1-3. 3. Poor ground connection.

    Help with a faulty turn signal relay

    With a faulty light relay, continuing to drive poses a certain danger because in heavy traffic and, above all, in the dark, your intention to turn may not be understood by other road users.

    1. The relay is located on the relay panel in the fuse box.
    2. Lower the fuse box.
    3. Pull the light relay out of the relay panel.
    4. Install a jumper between terminals 1 and 2 (there is a marking on the relay). To do this, insert a paper clip or thin wire into the contact connectors in the relay holder (these terminals are located opposite each other) and crimp.
    5. Reinstall the relay.
    6. When the turn signal lever is pressed, the turn signal lights on one side of the vehicle remain on continuously.
    7. By turning the turn signal lever on and off, simulate the blinking of the turn signal lights.

    Why doesn't the VAZ 2115 reverse? The reverse light doesn't light up - what to do?

    biathlonmordovia.ru → Electrical appliances

    Reverse sensor

    (DZH) - is a device that activates the reversing lights (white) when you engage the appropriate gear and start moving in reverse. In this way, you notify motorists (pedestrians) standing behind you of your intentions, that is, that you are going to drive in the opposite direction.

    Today we will talk not only about what this sensor is, but also how to check it if it malfunctions and replace it with your own hands, if necessary.

    I would like to note right away that non-working reverse lights are not conclusive evidence that the reverse sensor is faulty; perhaps the reason is quite trivial, for example, a wiring has come loose or a light bulb has burned out. Therefore, in order not to make unnecessary movements, make sure that the reason is in this sensor, and not in the light bulb or wiring.

    Additional reasons why the lights do not light up when reverse gear is engaged:

    1. , which is connected by a DZH chain and lanterns;
    2. Failure to fit the reverse sensor;
    3. The contacts of the flashlights have oxidized;
    4. There is no wiring contact between the fuse block and the plug.

    Where is the reverse sensor located?

    The DZH can be seen if you drive onto an overpass and climb under the car, there will be two sensors on the gearbox, one of them is the , the second is the reverse sensor

    Symptoms of a faulty reverse sensor

    You put the car in reverse, but the lights do not come on, although both the bulb and the wiring are in good condition.

    Conclusions:

    • If the lights are on in this position, the sensor is faulty and must be replaced.
    • If even in this position the lights do not light up, the reason is in the circuit, the sensor most likely has nothing to do with it.
    • Using a tester or multimeter, measure the voltage on ground and the orange wire that comes from the DZH; if there is voltage, you need to check the board of white lights, as well as the contacts. There may be no contact between the fuse box and the sensor contacts.

    Replacing the reverse sensor on the “fourteenth”

    To replace the sensor you will need: a new reverse sensor, an overpass, transmission oil, as well as empty containers and rags. The fact is that when you unscrew the old ESD, oil will flow out of the hole.

    1. Drive the car into the pit and place it on.
    2. Remove the engine crankcase protection.
    3. Remove the contacts from the DZH
      .
    4. Carefully clean the work area from dirt and dust.
    5. Bring the container prepared for the oil to the reverse sensor and unscrew it.
    6. Try to quickly remove the old ESD and install a new one in its place, then quickly tighten it until it stops.
    7. Connect the power wires to the new sensor.
    8. Wipe off all remaining oil using a rag.
    9. (add oil if necessary) and make sure the new reverse sensor is working.

    The fact that the car is moving backwards is signaled by white lamps, which are located at the rear of the car.

    The essence of this paragraph of the law

    Clause 10.1 of the Russian Traffic Regulations with commentaries has not changed since its introduction and is still in effect. According to it, the driver must choose a safe speed taking into account traffic volume, meteorological conditions and general visibility. If an obstacle or danger to movement appears, the driver is obliged to take action to reduce the speed until the vehicle stops.

    The law requires you to reduce your speed to avoid a collision.

    The second paragraph clearly states that you should not practice dangerous driving and create emergency situations. If someone cuts off, drives into oncoming traffic, or violates traffic rules, “ramming” the offender’s car is prohibited in any case.

    Any maneuver into oncoming traffic - and the one who avoided the accident will be guilty. If the driver did not take measures to stop the vehicle, then he can also be found guilty of the accident, since he violated a specific point.

    This means: if you see danger, brake. The most interesting thing about this rule is the consideration of specific precedents. This means that until the accident occurs, clause 10.1 of the traffic rules is not considered violated.

    Unlike other lighting devices, the direction indicators operate intermittently and flash. A special device is responsible for the operation of the indicators - the VAZ 2107 turn signal relay. In addition to ensuring the blinking of the lamps, the relay performs a signaling function. It notifies you of the operation of the turn signals with audible signals - clicks.

    At first, a thermal relay was installed on VAZ cars, in which the contacts were closed (opened) by a nichrome string, which heated and cooled due to the current passing through it. In later models, which include the “seven,” a relay with an electronic circuit and an electromagnet is used. The blinking frequency of the direction indicator lamps is determined by the settings of the electronic circuit. This design has fewer moving parts and contacts, and is therefore more reliable.

    The device also performs the function of a VAZ 2107 emergency flasher relay, causing the lamps to flash when the hazard lights are turned on.

    The alarm system is faulty

    Car alarms, like all electronic systems, are subject to failures:

    • triggers randomly;
    • does not set the car alarm;
    • blocks disarming via the original key fob.

    Finally, electronics sometimes prevent the car from starting. The reasons are as follows:

    • the alarm wiring or its power line is faulty;
    • The anti-theft device (immobilizer) does not work;
    • they tried to steal the car;
    • there was a problem in the program.

    Sometimes the driver himself forgets to remove the car from the security system, which includes an ignition interlock. Remove the protection and start the engine.

    To check whether the cause is really an alarm failure, pay attention to the following signs:

    • The alarm indicator light does not flash as usual;
    • the security system is disarmed, but the key fob still displays a message about the ignition switch being closed;
    • The sound of the siren does not turn off, the light alarm goes off;
    • buttons do not work correctly;
    • The central unit does not respond to signals from the key fob.

    Try resetting the alarm to factory settings via the key fob. The procedure is described in the instructions, which it is recommended to always keep in the glove compartment. If you don’t have it at hand, download it from the Internet.

    Hidden VALET button

    If the central unit does not respond to key fob presses, reset by pressing the secret button - VALET. Most often, the VALET button is hidden under the dashboard or in other hidden places. Turn the ignition on, off and on again. Then press the secret button three times. Some systems require you to enter a PIN code.
