I bought a Priora on 02/22/08. The car performed excellently, especially in winter it’s hot in the cabin, I had to drive even at minus 45. I’m completely satisfied with the engine, it gives out everything on the speedometer. During the entire period of operation, not counting oil changes, I replaced the brake pads, tires, and belt generator and timing belt and lastly at 102.300 the support bearing on the right side. I count the mileage as 103,565 km. This is a penny. Almost immediately I installed gas and engine heating. History of creation

In 2006, AvtoVAZ applied to participate in the WTCC, concluding a contract with the German company M Tech. Moscow businessman and racer Viktor Shapovalov, based on the City Motorsport team, created the “stable” Russian Bears Motosport (Russian Bears), which later became part of the Lada Sport factory team. In 2008, Megan Trophy winner Dutchman Jaap van Lagen and nine-time Russian karting champion Kirill Ladygin were invited to join Shapovalov’s team. In 2009, James Thompson joined the team, replacing Shapovalov, who had left as manager.

Specifications

The Opel C20XE engine with a cast iron cylinder block was produced from 1990 to 1998, but stayed in motorsport due to its reliability - Chevrolet and Lada use it in the WTCC. Technical regulations prohibit “dry sump”, as well as boring of channels in the cylinder head and multi-throttle intake. The maximum permissible speed is 8500 rpm. The service life of such a motor is 1000 km, three championship stages or two plus tests, which is quite enough. As a result, the engine power in the WTCC is about 280 hp. In 2011, the championship will be switched to 1600 cm³ supercharged.

Hewland manual transmission - cam, sequential. Its six stages are “recruited” for each race from twenty homologated pairs of gears that can be replaced. But only one main gear is allowed.

The steering is a combination of a rack and pinion from ZF Friedrichshafen AG and an electrically driven power steering pump from BMW.

The engine used is the already familiar VAZ-21116 eight-valve engine. It is capable of producing 90 horsepower. Also in the line there is a 16-valve VAZ-21126 engine with a capacity of 98 “horses”. Various foreign-made components and parts were used in the design of the engines. Due to this, it was possible to significantly increase the overall resource of power units. Thus, a new, lightweight connecting rod and piston group from Federal Mogul was used. The timing belt, as well as the tension pulley for it, were manufactured by Gates. The manufacturer claims that the resource of the kit is more than 200 thousand km. In the maximum configuration, the VAZ-217030 comes with a 1.8-liter engine with a capacity of 120 hp. This version was suggested. But there are very few such copies. They were made to order.

Configurations of Lada Priora VAZ 2170 and other modifications

VAZ 2170 is known in the following configurations:

• “Standard” is the most budget package. It lacks: audio radio, speakers, air conditioning, rear headrests, immobilizer, central locking, heated front seats, electric drive and heated exterior mirrors, fog lights, remote trunk release. The front windows are electric, the rear windows are mechanical. The engine is 81 hp, which has been discontinued since 2013, and at the moment there are no longer orders for this configuration;
• “Norma”, which is equipped with an 87-, and after restyling - only a 98- and 106-power engine. Available: audio preparation, on-board computer, electric heating and electric drive of exterior mirrors, immobilizer, anti-theft alarm and all the elements of the “standard” equipment plus some new equipment. This configuration is in greatest demand due to its price niche. When you need a car “yesterday”, you have to buy what you have enough money for now, and everyone else has to retrofit the car in the process.
• "Norma". Essentially, this is the same standard for which one or more items of equipment are set: air conditioning, audio radio with speakers, ABS BAS, child seat mounts, heated front seats and windshield;
• “Lux” is the most rich in functionality. It has everything that the “norm” has, and in addition: side airbags, an airbag for the front passenger, rear and front electric windows, a navigator, a multimedia system, cruise control, parking sensors, fog lights, a rain sensor, a climate system, alloy wheels, heated front seats;
• “Sport” is a special package that increases the “sports” component. This is an aerodynamic body kit: a pronounced bumper with a spoiler, side sills, a diffuser rear bumper, and a wing on the trunk lid. The wheels with narrow profile tires are also different. Ground clearance, curb weight (up to 1080 kg) and maximum weight (up to 1500 kg) have been reduced. The interior has also been transformed: side supports have been added along the edges of the seats with red stitched seams, carbon fiber inserts, and a leather steering wheel. Air conditioning, radio, and a full set of electric windows are included. However, the production of sports Prioras was limited and today they are discontinued, although they can be found here and there on the highway, and most often these are Priora coupes.

Of course, this is not a complete, but only an indicative overview of the configurations of the Lada Priora, which is hardly possible to present in its entirety within the confines of one article. In addition, the equipment also differs somewhat depending on the body type. For example:

But this does not mean at all that it is too much inferior to the “luxury” and “standard” trim levels. Of course, there are significant differences, but Lada Priora retains its face in any form.

Italian designers from the Carcerano studio worked on the external appearance of the Priora together with Russian manufacturers. Thanks to this, the Lada Priora standard looks quite attractive and has a fabric interior, which is practical and inexpensive. This car model also has bumpers painted in body color and stamped rims.

In addition, in the Lada Priora car, the standard equipment means the presence of a driver’s airbag, ABS, tilt steering and front electric windows.

The standard package includes a 1.6-liter engine with a power of 98 horsepower. In the “luxury” configuration there is already a little more horsepower - 106. Priora is capable of reaching speeds of up to a maximum of 183 km/h. If desired, the car owner can install an additional audio system, air conditioning and heated windshield, for an additional fee, of course.

The standard equipment of the Lada Priora may seem meager to some, but in comparison with the VAZ 2110 model that preceded the appearance of the Priora, changes are obvious. Fans of this car change the struts, install widened rims and lower the “belly” in such a way that, in combination with a body kit, makes the Priora more sporty and even somewhat formidable. The buyer has a choice of hatchback, sedan and station wagon.

The car behaves well on the roads, a fairly strong suspension allows you to easily pass through potholes and speed bumps, although it is better not to drive it off-road, like any other car that is valued and taken care of.

Anti-corrosion treatment in Priora is designed so that the owner does not worry about moisture or heavy precipitation. And the reinforced body, which has passed crash tests with a score of 4 points, also with a bonus in the form of an airbag, makes the Lada an attractive car with a low price.

Types of configurations for production models of Lada Priora

The presentation of the model began to be prepared already in 2006, and a year later the first version rolled off the assembly line. The VAZ factory index is 2170. The platform for production was the base from the Lada 110.

Unlike the “10”, the doorways have become wider by 7%. Absolutely new form of optics, hood, luggage compartment lid, fenders, sills. Standard wheels "Kama Euro" 185/65 R14.

The information content of the dashboard is good, the indicators are arranged in a cluster, providing a generalized picture of the functionality of the technical tool.

In the central part of the tidy there is a place for a monochrome display of the electronic engine control unit (ECU). Of course, the window is small, but it is quite sufficient for visual diagnostics.

To the left of the steering column there is a control module for side lights, high and low beam. Pre-installed electric headlight adjustment and dashboard brightness control.

The mechanical button for activating the trunk lid has been moved to the central channel. The useful space of the luggage compartment is estimated at 430 liters. Unfortunately, you can open the lid using a button from the inside or on the key fob. There is no mechanical button on the lid itself.

In the center of the dashboard there is a connector for installing a DIN, 2DIN radio (with LCD display).

In the engine compartment there is a 1.6-liter power unit, 98 hp, with a torque of 145 Nm. Transmission type: five-speed manual. In order to increase the efficiency of the braking system, a vacuum booster is pre-installed.

All production models of Lada Priora comply with Euro 4 standards. This is possible due to the displacement of the standard catalyst closer to the exhaust manifold. As a result, the catalysis process occurs much faster due to an increase in operating temperature.

Norma and Lux

The basic package includes: airbag, immobilizer, power steering, armrest, central locking.

Lada Priora received a completely new ventilation and interior heating system. Thanks to the efficiency of the stove heater, the microclimate is maintained for a long time.

At the same time, the active safety systems in the “Norma” are not given due attention, unlike in the “Lux”.

The “Lux” is pre-installed with air conditioning, full power accessories, two airbags, and seat belt pretensioners. Externally, you can “recognize” the Lux by the presence of PTF fog lights on the lower edge of the front bumper. As well as alloy wheels, a parking sensor on the rear side.

The body is made of galvanized metal and low-alloy steel. The wheel arches are treated with anti-corrosion coating on both sides. The manufacturer provides a 6-year factory warranty for the body and its elements.

In 2013, AvtoVAZ introduced a restyled version of the Lada Priora with a new body. No significant changes were expected, just minor improvements. Daytime running lights (DRL) are pre-installed, front and rear optics are permeated with LEDs. The radiator grille has a mesh structure.

Like its predecessor, the new Lada Priora is available in four body styles: station wagon, coupe, sedan, hatchback. There are significant changes inside the cabin. The dashboard is covered with a soft-look - increased resistance to scratches, plus piano lacquer inserts in places.

The door cards received new upholstery and reinforced security pillars. The steering wheel is adjustable in height and tilt. Paddle shifters are pre-installed.

Vehicle body and layout

Body type VAZ 2171 is a five-seater, five-door station wagon. The fifth door is solid and opens upward. The overall dimensions of the Lada Priora station wagon (body length, width and height) are 4210, 1680 and 1420 mm, respectively. The height is indicated taking into account the roof rails, which are not removable. For the Lada Priora station wagon, 10 body color options are offered: from black and dark red to white and silver. The "Lada Priora" station wagon in "Snow Queen" color is most suitable for southern regions, since it heats up less from the sun. In summer, cars of this color will not be so hot.

The vehicle's wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear axles) is 2492 mm. The front track is 1410 mm, the rear is slightly larger, its size is 1380 mm. Ground clearance (or ground clearance) is 170 mm.
