The fact that the Lada Vesta sedan, which is preparing for mass production, will receive a long-wheelbase version, information began to appear on the Internet quite a long time ago, even before the official presentation was scheduled. On social networks they even began to call it Lada Vesta VIP, but later the car received the official name Vesta Signature.
Later, the very first photos of the Lada Vesta Signature, a very real car, were published. Interestingly, Bo Andersson himself allegedly had no idea about its existence. According to the former head of AvtoVAZA, it follows that he proposed to engineers to implement something similar many times, but he did not expect that they would decide to do it.
The interior uses genuine leather in black and gray shades, as well as Alcantara. Quality and prestige are emphasized by the elegant chrome finish and the comfortable and wide armrest.
Characteristics of the extended Lada Vesta Signatur
For now, there are quite a few details other than the same photos of the Lada Vesta Signature. It is known that the car’s wheelbase has increased to 2885 mm (+ 250 mm), the total length of the car has reached 4660 mm. The amount of legroom for rear passengers has increased by only 200 mm - because the rear seat has been moved 50 mm forward so that riders are not disturbed by the sloping roof (the distance from the seat to the ceiling has increased by 15 mm).
The rear door opening and the door itself have been enlarged, making it much more convenient to get in and out. By the way, the door is so-called pillarless - without additional slats in the window opening. To do this, we had to invent a complicated mechanism for lifting the large glass.
There is no photo of the Vesta Signature interior, however, according to insiders, the interior is made in a richer finish than that found in the standard model (outdated information, see photo of the interior below).
It is noteworthy that last year at AvtoVAZ a number of extended versions of the Lada Largus VIP versions were produced focusing exclusively on the top management of the enterprise (including Bo Andersson himself driving one of them). The main difference between these cars was a modified interior, additional plastic elements, as well as a two-liter engine with a power of 135 hp. It is not yet clear whether the extended Lada Vesta Signature will be equipped with an improved engine, and there is no talk about the start of putting such a modification on the assembly line; it is only reported that 10 copies of the car are planned to be produced in 2021.
The only copy of the Lada Vesta Signature (signature - signature, autograph) existing today is equipped with a standard 1.6-liter engine producing 106 hp. and a robotic gearbox (this is Bu Andersson’s personal copy). If they decide to put the car on wide sale, it is quite possible that it will be equipped with a new 1.8 liter engine. Updated: in June 2021, AvtoVAZ released a second copy (the first was painted black, the second brown) and provided it to the government of the Samara region for tests. Moreover, the new car received a number of improvements, such as hidden windshield washer nozzles under the hood, a fin antenna like a BMW, and the gas tank flap can now be opened from the passenger compartment.
Does Lada Vesta Signature have a future?
Most likely there is. The car already has a well-tested base in the form of a stock Lada Vesta. This sedan has already fallen in love with Russians and is beginning its advance both to the West and to the East. AvtoVAZ has created an excellent basis for the production of new inexpensive models, this is confirmed by numerous positive reviews from car owners. As you know, the basic equipment of Vesta costs from 514 thousand rubles. The maximum configuration costs 658 thousand. The cars are equipped with two 1.6 liter engines and a power of 106 to 114 hp. According to the official Lada Vesta club, the car was developed by a team of employees from the Scientific and Technical Center and the AvtoVAZ design center. The president of the company, Bo Andersson, first announced the new modification of the Lada Vesta on October 27. “I always push engineers to do a little more, but sometimes even they surprise me. Like last Monday, when I was shown something I didn't even know existed. This is a Lada Vesta VIP with a body extended by 25 centimeters,” the top manager previously said.
Serial production of Vesta began on September 25 at the IzhAvto plant. The exact price for the car has not yet been announced. At the launch ceremony, AvtoVAZ President Bo Andersson announced only the price range - from 495,000 to 600,000 rubles. Full price lists will be revealed on the sales start date – November 25th. By the end of the year, about 6,000 cars will be assembled, of which 5,000 will go on sale. If the machine is popular, annual production could reach up to 100,000 machines.
Until the end of 2015, Vesta will be produced and sold only with Russian 16-valve 1.6-liter engines with a capacity of 106 horsepower. The power unit will be paired either with a French-made manual transmission or with a “robot” of its own production.
Representatives of AvtoVAZ have not yet disclosed the vehicle’s configuration. But, according to preliminary data, the basic version of the new product will receive 15-inch wheels, an electric trunk lid lock with control from the cabin, air conditioning, exterior mirrors with side turn indicators and the ERA-GLONASS system. The driver will also have access to automatic door locking while driving and automatic door unlocking and collision warning lights, ABS, EBD, hill start assist, stability control, traction control and electric power steering.

The concept version of the Lada Vesta Signature was equipped with an ordinary power unit from the Vesta line. This engine has a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 106 horsepower.
