Fuel filter VAZ 2107
To clean the gasoline supplied to the engine, the VAZ 2107 design provides a filter.
During operation, the consumable gradually becomes clogged. This leads to a decrease in filter throughput, which causes instability of the motor. To solve the problem, the consumable requires timely replacement, which is easy to do yourself.
The VAZ 2107 injector has an original fuel filter, article number 21120-1117010. Its price ranges from 200 to 300 rubles. Third-party analogues are available for sale. The best of them are presented in the table below.
Table - Analogues of fuel on the injection VAZ 2107

Injector installation
Let's take a closer look at how to install an injector on a VAZ 2107. First of all, you need to drain some of the coolant, after which the carburetor, intake and exhaust manifolds are removed. An electric air blower is installed under the injector, so if a VAZ 2107 has a forced air blower, it also needs to be removed. The first thing to replace is the crankshaft pulley. To place the sensor on it, the new pulley must have special teeth. Next, the front engine cover and sealing gaskets are replaced.
During installation, you will need a coolant temperature sensor. To install it, you need an underflow located on the tee of the block head. A threaded hole is prepared for the sensor, after which the ebb is installed back. The sensor itself will come in handy after installing new wiring. Then the manifolds are installed with all the equipment attached to them, such as a fuel rail with injectors, a throttle valve and a receiver. The position sensor and idle air valve are bolted to the base of the manifold. The fuel pump and ignition system elements are replaced with plugs, after which the fuel filter is installed in any convenient place.
The gas tank is secured with clamps, and the fuel outlet line is connected to it. If the gas tank is not replaced with a new one, but the same one is installed, it is necessary to wipe it from the inside with a solvent. The electric fuel pump is installed approximately in the place where the gas tank is located, under the bottom of the car. A fuel line is also installed at the inlet to drain gasoline from the system into the gas tank.
You can stretch it in any way, but it is important that the line and the gas tank are tightly connected
Next, the ramp is attached to the manifold, and new wiring is installed. To install the latter, you need to have a good knowledge of the electrical equipment of the VAZ 2107 car. An on-board computer, wiring harnesses and injection sensors must be installed. The last step is to install the elements of the ignition system, high-voltage wires and the remaining sensors.
Sequence of work when replacing a filter on a VAZ 2107
First of all, before starting work, it is necessary to relieve the pressure from the fuel line. To do this, turn off the fuse in the fuse box that controls the operation of the fuel pump and start the engine. Let the engine run at low speed until it stalls, which will indicate a release of pressure in the system.
All further work will take place in the engine compartment, namely in the engine compartment.
To operate safely, the vehicle must be de-energized. To do this, it will be enough to remove the negative terminal from the car battery.
After unscrewing the fitting, we disconnect the tubes going to the filter, as a result of which a little gasoline may leak out.
The fuel filter is attached to the car body through a clamp with a coupling bolt. We unscrew it with a 10mm wrench, and then remove the old filter from the clamp.
Also, when installing a new filter, it is necessary to replace the O-rings in the fuel pipe fittings.
Now all that remains is to reassemble in the reverse order, after which, replace the fuel filter VAZ 2107 injector
is considered completed. After this, we turn on the ignition several times to pump fuel into the system, and start the engine. With the engine running, it is necessary to inspect the threaded connections for fuel leaks.
The fuel filter performs an important mission - by filtering the fuel, it traps various foreign impurities and protects the engine injectors from clogging with them. It must be said that in our conditions the fuel filter is more than important, because the quality of the fuel is not always at the proper level. According to the manufacturer's instructions, the fuel filter must be replaced every 30,000 kilometers. But in fact, it may need to be replaced much earlier if the quality of gasoline leaves much to be desired.
Deterioration in engine traction and increased gasoline consumption indicate that it is time to change the fuel filter. Replacing the fuel filter on a VAZ 2107 with an injection engine is quite simple. If you follow the instructions, the whole job will take less than half an hour.

Signs of a fuel pump malfunction
A faulty fuel pump can be determined by the following symptoms:
The fuel pump does not pump
If, after turning the ignition key of the injection “seven”, you do not hear the usual sound of the fuel pump running, you need to check the electrical power circuit, as well as the mechanical part of this unit.
Checking the relay and fuse
Troubleshooting begins with the relay and fuse box located in the cabin under the glove compartment. To make it more convenient to work, the block must be removed from the niche by pulling it towards you. The fuel pump fuse is located in the middle of the block (indicated by the number 4 in the figure), the fuel pump relay is located slightly to the right of the fuse (in the figure - 5).
From the connection diagram it can be seen that voltage is supplied to the fuel pump through the fuse and relay. Therefore, first of all, you need to check the integrity of the fuse: this can be done, for example, with a multimeter. If the fuse turns out to be blown, and after replacing it the car runs fine, then you have the easiest emergency of all. If the fuse is intact, then further actions are as follows:
If the fuel pump does not turn on, you need to look at the positive voltage not only at the relay, but also at the fuel pump plug. To do this, it is not necessary to turn the ignition on and off: simply place a jumper on the fuel pump relay between contacts 30 and 87, and the control checks the circuit to the fuel pump plug. By the way, the alarms block in the vast majority of cases the fuel pump circuit. It is in the gap of the positive (gray) wire that the contacts of the blocking relay are placed.

Checking the fuel pump motor
If everything is in order with the fuse, relay and wiring, and the fuel pump does not work or works intermittently, you need to check the pump motor. First of all, you should make sure that the electric motor terminals are not oxidized or clogged. After this, you need to connect the clamps of a multimeter or a regular 12 V light bulb to the terminals and turn on the ignition. If the light comes on or the multimeter shows the presence of voltage in the circuit, then there is a problem in the motor. A failed electric fuel pump motor is usually replaced with a new one.
The procedure for replacing fuel filters on a VAZ 2107
Any mechanism in a car will sooner or later need replacement or restoration. It should be noted that owners of VAZ 2107 carburetor models have the opportunity to wash the filter, removing all deposits from it, and use it again. The installed filters on injection VAZs cannot be washed.
When to change
In any case, it is more advisable to immediately replace the fuel filters rather than waste time washing and cleaning them. Not all car enthusiasts know when exactly these elements need to be replaced. Of course, each filter (coarse and fine) has its own designated resource, but you should not wait until it runs out.
As a rule, obvious signs of malfunctions in the operation of the fuel system filter elements are:
- jerks and failures in the operation of the power unit (the first signs can be noticed at low speed or in idle mode);
- decrease in traction when accelerating, overtaking, driving uphill;
- problems starting the engine;
- increased fuel consumption.
According to regulations, the need to replace VAZ 2107 fuel filters occurs on average after traveling 30 thousand kilometers.
Which filter to buy
If the car owner intends to change the filter on a VAZ 2107 on his own for the first time, he will need to choose the best option in the store. It is important to know that the prices of analogues from domestic and Western manufacturers are approximately the same, however, experienced car owners are advised to choose Mahle and Big filters. These devices are more reliable and durable, and the risk of purchasing a defective filter is virtually eliminated.
You can evaluate the effectiveness of the filter by its manufacturing quality and paper quality. The best way is to disassemble the used filter. Those. We remove the used filter, saw it and see how and what it is made of. I have never seen anything better than the MAHLE KL83. There are no springs inside, the paper filters perfectly (black on the outside and light on the inside), the filter paper is not glued to the body (i.e. no glue is used), but is pressed into liquid plastic, which, after cooling, ideally maintains the pitch between the corrugations. Aluminum body. I sawed ZOLEX, SCT and FILTRON. These MAHLE filters don't even hold a candle. The paper frays on them. But this is my purely personal opinion.

Replacing the carburetor with a system with distributed fuel injection
Carburetor cars are gradually disappearing from our lives; such cars are no longer produced by industry, and their design is considered obsolete. But the question of whether a carburetor injector is better or not is still relevant; debates on this topic are often held on automobile forums.
Each type of fuel system (FS) has its own advantages and disadvantages; the injector is a modern unit that provides a more accurate dosage of the air-fuel mixture. But the carburetor circuit is simple, it is easier to diagnose, and often not only specialists, but also many drivers can deal with the problem.
Next, you should unscrew the fuel hose fitting from the filter, after placing an old rag under it.
Next, install a new filter. At this stage, it is necessary to consider the position of the arrow on the filter housing; it should point towards the fuel rail.
Also, when installing a new filter, it is necessary to replace the O-rings in the fuel pipe fittings.
Now it remains to reassemble in the reverse order, after which the replacement of the VAZ 2107 injector fuel filter is considered complete. After this, we turn on the ignition several times to pump fuel into the system, and start the engine. With the engine running, it is necessary to inspect the threaded connections for fuel leaks.
Other articles have already described how to replace the fine filter on Lada Kalina cars. Today this procedure will be discussed on the VAZ 2107.
The photo shows that in the above case the fuel filter was completely clogged.
History and design of the injector
The debate about which system is better among specialists and car enthusiasts still does not subside. But let's leave this debate to the professionals. And novice car enthusiasts just need to know how this system works and how it works.
It is not at all necessary that car enthusiasts will need this knowledge for independent repairs. However, knowledge is power. This knowledge is needed at least so that the novice car enthusiast is not deceived by cunning mechanics from the service station around the corner.
The history of this device begins in 1951. It was then that a well-known woman installed such an injection system on the 2-stroke engine of a sports car. Then, in 1954, the famous and popular one also began to equip its engines with a new system.
Serial use of injectors began in the late 70s. Even then it was clear that this device worked better than conventional carburetor systems.
As a result, injectors completely replaced their “ancestors”. All modern cars are equipped with such distributed and direct electronic injection systems.
Replacing the coarse fuel filter
Due to the fact that the fuel pre-filter is located in the gas tank or next to it, you will need to open access to the fuel tank. This is easy to do - you need to fold back the rear sofa in the cabin and lift the carpet.
To work, you only need two tools:
- wrench 10;
- flat screwdriver.
The work schedule is as follows:
- Using a screwdriver with a thin flat blade, unscrew the screws securing the gas tank hatch cover (the hatch is located immediately under the carpet of the rear row of seats).
Thus, the process of removing and installing a coarse fuel filter on a VAZ 2107 takes only 10–15 minutes and is accessible even to a beginner. However, we must not forget about safety rules: since the work is carried out next to the gasoline tank, smoking and using any objects that can cause a spark are prohibited.

Briefly about the renovation
In the event of malfunctions in the fuel supply system, first of all, check the condition of the coarse fuel filters and the mesh filter by removing the pump cover.
At the next stage, the fuel pump in carburetor cars is disassembled and the gaskets and membranes subject to wear are replaced. It's easy to remove. You need to disconnect the hoses and unscrew 2 nuts.
The problem may also be in the intake and exhaust valves. They can be cleaned by first soaking them in a solvent, or replaced. Spare parts are included in the repair kit.
Which lubricant will be best for VAZ 2107
The choice of engine oil for the VAZ 2107 is quite large. The car was produced from 1982 to 2012. The car was equipped with B032103 1.5 liter carburetor engines - the most of them were installed. In the 2000s, preference was given to 1.6-liter B032106 injectors. The manufacturing plant AvtoVAZ recommends the quality of the lubricant; there are no strict recommendations regarding the viscosity characteristics.
For injectors, it is proposed to use an oil mixture that meets the SG/CD and higher categories of the American API standard. This means that products compatible with these categories can also be used - for example levels SH, SJ or SL. They will be of higher quality. For Lukoil and Esso lubricants, there are viscosity requirements. For unworn engines, you can try a high-temperature viscosity of 30 - for example, 5W30 or 10W30. This will ensure good starting at low temperatures, as well as optimal fuel consumption.
If the working fluid burns strongly, this will tell the owner that the engine is already wearing out. Then you should use a “summer” viscosity of 40 (5W40, 10W40). Oil consumption will drop, it will work more steadily and quietly. Regarding the base - synthetics, hydrocracking or semi-synthetics - VAZ does not give recommendations.
How to replace a VAZ injector fuel pump
To replace the fuel pump on an injection vase you will need:
- key to 10;
- 2 keys for 17;
- key to 7;
- crosshead screwdriver;
- a simple screwdriver.
I recommend removing the gas tank mount for ease of repair work. To remove the fuel pump you need:
- disconnect the pressure relief pipes in the gas tank;
- Unscrew the main pipelines using 2 17mm wrenches;
- remove the gasket from the gas tank neck;
- unscrew the tank mount;
- move the tank to the side;
- remove the power and fuel level block;
- unscrew the fuel pump flange;
- remove the fuel pump filter;
- remove the tube from the pump after heating it;
- We take out the old pump and install a new one.
When installing the filter, do not hesitate to give it a good tap, otherwise it may fall off like mine. The fuel pump mesh on the VAZ injector is replaced if the old one is dirty or torn. Its replacement is carried out in the same way. Usually it is sold complete with a fuel pump; if not, you will have to buy it, the price is 25 rubles.
Reassemble in reverse order. We heat the hose again in boiling water; if the mounting location of the old electric fuel pump does not allow the part to be properly secured, then we cut it off.
Important. When choosing, pay attention to performance and maximum pressure. I had Bosch 0 580 454 456 and replaced it with a close analogue of FR 453-453 from WEBER.
- OEM part number 21083-1139009-01;
- Installation of VAZ 2108 - 2115;
- Pressure - 580 kPa;
- Productivity - 60 l/min;
- Voltage - 13.5 V.
Consumption per 100 km at a speed of 120 is about 8 liters. Very pleased.
Replacing the fuel pump VAZ 2107 injector video:
The fuel filter performs an important mission: it cleans the fuel from foreign impurities, thereby protecting the injectors from clogging. If the car is operated in the CIS, the condition of this part should be given special attention, because the quality of the fuel does not always meet the requirements. According to the manufacturer, the VAZ 2107 injector fuel filter should be replaced every 30 thousand km. But in reality, the filter can become clogged much earlier if you use poor quality fuel.
The need to replace the filter can be seen by a decrease in vehicle power and an increase in fuel consumption.
To replace the filter yourself, you do not need any special tools or special knowledge, and the whole process, if done correctly, will take an hour.
Necessary tools and materials to replace the fuel filter:
- keys for 10 and 7;
- rags;
- new filter (original filter number 2112-1117010-01);
- pliers and screwdriver.

On a car with a carburetor
Attention! Do not under any circumstances try to repair an old VAZ 2107 filter, no matter whether the carburetor is installed or the injector, since it is a non-separable structure.
- First of all, place some container under the filter, since a certain amount of fuel may leak out of it when removed.
- Remove the screws that secure the clamp securing the pump hose to the fuel cleaning element.
Pump tube clamp screw
- Disconnect the hose.
- Attention! As soon as you disconnect the hose, immediately direct it into a previously prepared container to drain the remaining fuel from it!
- Unscrew the screw of the clamp securing the fuel line hose to the filter element.
Fuel line clamp screw - After disconnecting the tube, immediately direct it into a container for draining fuel.
- Remove the filter from the power unit with carburetor.
- Close the hose holes with some kind of plug, otherwise fuel may leak from it.
- Install the new filter element in the reverse order of removal.
- Check if there are any leaks.
- Attention! Install the new filter element so that the arrows on its body are directed towards the pump!
On a car with an injector
- Relieve pressure in the system.
- Open the hood of the VAZ 2107 with an injector.
- Disconnect the battery terminal.
- Unscrew the fuel pipe fitting and at the same time hold the old filter with a wrench. A little fuel may spill, so lay out a rag in advance or, better yet, place a container.
- Disconnect the tubes connected to the filter.
- Unscrew the fuel cleaning element mount.
- Remove the old barrier.
- Install the new one so that the arrow on the body is directed towards the fuel rail.

Attention! During replacement work, follow safety precautions, do not smoke under any circumstances and there should be no open flame nearby.
Safety
Regardless of the type of engine on your VAZ 2109, the procedure for replacing the fuel cleaning device must be carried out in compliance with certain safety measures.
- Do not smoke under any circumstances while repairing the fuel system. Be patient. We do not recommend going outside to smoke. Your clothes may be oily or saturated with fuel. The slightest ember and problems cannot be avoided.
- Always keep a fire extinguisher near your car. When changing the fuel cleaner, place it next to you. A useful measure that has saved more than one person and saved more than one car.
- Avoid contact of fuel with eyes. It is best to work with safety glasses.
- Work on the fuel system only in well-ventilated areas. If repairs are being carried out in winter, it is better to dress warmly and open the garage doors.
- Do not change the filter outside during extreme heat. Even high air temperatures and direct rays of the sun can become a source of fire.
- You can work on the fuel system only when the engine has completely cooled down.
It will be useful: Design and diagram of power steering: power steering belt, reservoir, tube, radiator, oil seal and other parts
A fire extinguisher is a must have at hand. According to the operating manual, on injection VAZ 2109 the fuel purifier should be changed once every 20 thousand kilometers. In fact, given the operating conditions, this period should be halved. As for the carburetor, it is recommended to change the filter every 10 thousand kilometers. In practice - about 7 thousand kilometers.
Replacing this device is a fairly simple task that even a beginner can handle. The most important point is compliance with safety measures.
Reasons for replacement
There are several main reasons why car owners have to periodically or unplannedly change the fuel filter.
Cause | Peculiarities |
Quality | Every car part has a certain level of quality. Alas, these days are no longer Soviet times, when the quality of parts was controlled by the state. Today the regulator is the national dealer. But he is more interested in financial gain than in maintaining quality standards. Hence the impressive number of products, the reliability and characteristics of which leave much to be desired. |
Chinese products and fakes | Recently, attitudes towards Chinese products have changed slightly for the better. But still, most of the spare parts supplied from there are counterfeits of well-known European brands or simply a locally produced product, the quality standards of which are far from even domestic ones |
Dubious stores | Most auto parts stores strive for maximum financial gain. They find suppliers with the lowest prices, purchase spare parts and sell them to us. At the same time, few people check the quality of the purchased goods. Today it is not difficult to find a fake or low-quality product even in trusted auto parts stores |
The filter is overloaded with fuel | This situation does not happen often, but you should not exclude it as a probable reason for premature replacement of the device. |
Incorrect or inappropriate installation | Sometimes the car owner buys high-quality parts, but due to improper installation with his own hands or the hands of dubious craftsmen, the entire quality of the filter is reduced to nothing |
Bad fuel | Considering the variety of gas stations in our country, everyone is well aware that cheap gas stations sell bad gasoline. Accordingly, due to many impurities, the service life of the filter cannot reach the declared one. It simply cannot cope with the loads that low-grade fuel provides. |
You can determine that you purchased a bad or counterfeit fuel filter based on several signs:
Replacement on the injector
A fuel filter is a device that is responsible for the quality of fuel flowing from the tank to the engine.
Installation
The device is located between the engine and the pump and adjusts the composition of the fuel, filtering out debris and impurities. If for one reason or another the filter no longer performs its functions properly, it should be replaced immediately.
To change the device to a VAZ 2109 injector, follow the algorithm.
- Make sure the engine is completely cool. You cannot work on a hot engine.
- Drain all gasoline from the system.
- Check if a fire extinguisher or other fire extinguishing equipment is available.
- Explore the work area. It should not contain anything that could even theoretically cause a fire.
- Raise the hood, remove the negative from the battery.
- Remove the clamp from the fuel inlet and outlet hoses.
- Disconnect all hoses going to the filter. Be sure to lift them up or even plug them with something at hand. Otherwise, the remaining fuel will spill onto the power unit and the floor.
- Take the new filter in your hands and check where the marks are located indicating the connection of the inlet and outlet hoses. Just don't confuse them.
- Before connecting the pipes, check that all the gasoline has actually come out of them.
- Connect the hoses to the new filter device.
- Put on new clamps. They are mostly disposable, so it is better to replace them with new ones every time you change the filter.
- Check the assembly for leaks.
- Replace the negative terminal of the battery, close the hood and turn on the ignition.
- Make sure your fuel injection engine is working properly.
Dismantling the device
Replacement on the carburetor
If you are lucky enough to own a VAZ 2109 with a carburetor engine, the procedure for replacing the fuel filter will be slightly different.
The instructions look like this:
- Loosen the mounting clamp on the engine side;
- Disconnect the hose from the fuel cleaner. Most likely, a small amount of fuel will remain in the pipes, so be careful;
- Loosen the clamp and remove the hose from the tank side;
- Armed with a new fuel purifier, check the direction of the arrow on the device. It must coincide with the direction of fuel movement - towards the pump;
- Tighten the mounting clamps;
- Pump some gasoline into the fuel cleaner as it is dry at this point. This is done by the fuel pump. Press its lever a couple of times, after which the filter will begin to fill with fuel;
- Start the car and check for any signs of fuel leakage.
Before returning the minus to the battery and starting the engine, make sure that there are no signs of gasoline leakage anywhere, and that it has not accidentally spilled from the hoses onto the power unit or the floor. The slightest spark and high temperature can cause a fire, followed by more tragic consequences.
Scheme and principle of operation
The types and modifications of carburetors for a given car can be very different, but the principle of operation remains the same.
When starting the engine cold, the driver closes the choke to limit the flow of air and increase the amount of gasoline. This makes it easier to start and brings the speed necessary for stable operation.

During the warm-up process, air intake is increased to reduce speed and eliminate interruptions. Thus, the air damper opens completely and the amount of gasoline is reduced. Other methods of warming up are not provided for by the design.
Gasoline is supplied through the fuel filter to the float chamber, and then to the main metering system of the mixing chamber. The scheme for pumping air and mixing it with gasoline in the diffuser occurs due to the vacuum that occurs during the operation of the valve mechanism and pistons, compressing and pushing out the working mixture.
The second chamber system is designed to increase air flow to the nozzle when the engine is running under heavy load, when the speed is high.
To ensure that the engine runs stably at idle, and at low speeds to prevent it from stalling and eliminate interruptions, an idle system is provided. And to maintain the level of fuel used in the Solex 21073 carburetor, there is a whole scheme for the operation of the float system. Let's consider the operation of each system separately.
Rework
To replace a carburetor with an injector yourself, be sure to arm yourself with the following components:
- Cylinder head from VAZ 2112 with receiver and manifolds;
- Knock sensor;
- Throttle pipe with throttle position sensor;
- Mass air flow sensor and a number of other elements.
Replacement kit When everything is ready, you can get to work.
- Remove the old cylinder head. Plus, remove all attachments in the fuel assembly, gas tank and ignition system.
- Remove the alternator, thermostat, pulleys and belts.
- Install a new gas tank with a pump, borrowed from a donor - an injection VAZ.
- Remove the carburetor and ignition system components that need to be replaced.
- Disconnect the cooling system pipes and hoses. Here, install a completely new kit from the injector.
- Remove the pan.
- Install new pistons from an injection donor and connecting rods at 10. Standard carburetor components are not designed for an injection compression ratio. Plus there are special recesses for other valves.
- Install a new unit with an underflow on the cover for the DPKV, replacing the standard oil pump. If you can remove the cover, then only that will be replaced.
- After removing the old cooling system pipes, install new ones. The best solution is to replace the entire set. Buying it won't really impact your overall budget.
- Prepare everything necessary to mount the 16 valve head. The fasteners match, only the bolts from the old head are long and need to be shortened. Plus, don’t forget to make a size 12 hole in the new head.
- Install new fuel lines from the donor.
- Connect your new gas tank to the lines.
- Route the wiring from the control unit to the fuel pump. You can use old fuel level regulators from a carburetor car.
- Cut a hole in the wall of the engine compartment through which the wiring will be routed. This way you won't have to make the standard wires longer.
- Install the knock sensor by drilling a hole in the block and tapping a size 8 thread.
- Be sure to replace the water pump using a unit from donor 2112.
- Get a new crankcase breather and oil dipstick. Install them instead of the previous ones.
- Install a new cylinder head. Just don't forget to change the gasket, which corresponds to a different head.
- Install a thermostat borrowed from a VAZ 2112.
- Connect the coolant pipes.
- Remove the rear timing cover and rollers. The pulleys from 2112 are dismantled. The belt must be installed in accordance with the marks.
- Install the new generator along with the drive. For the new generator, the upper fasteners will remain intact, since they are not provided for by the design of the carburetor VAZ 2109. Therefore, fasten the pair of lower mounting bolts as securely as possible.
- Place all the sensors in their new places.
- Seal the valve covers with a good quality sealant.
- Assemble the ignition module, wires, spark plugs and other components.
- Install the air filter.
- Get your exhaust system back to normal. The muffler is often left stock, but the resonator and other components are taken from the donor.
- The wiring is connected to the dashboard and the lock.
- Fill in new oil, refuel the car with high-quality fuel.
- Start the engine and take it for a test drive.
Cleaning the carburetor fuel strainer Ozone 2105, 2107
On Ozone 2105, 2107, the fuel filter is installed at the inlet to the carburetor.
If it becomes contaminated with deposits coming from the fuel tank along the fuel line, gasoline stops flowing into the carburetor float chamber in sufficient quantities. This leads to a lean fuel mixture and, as a result, disruption of the carburetor and, accordingly, the car engine. Unstable idling, dips and jerks appear when you press the gas pedal, the power and throttle response of the engine decreases. To avoid these malfunctions, or eliminate them if they already exist, you should first clean the fuel strainer at the inlet to the Ozone carburetor. This work can be done without removing the carburetor from the car engine.
Required Tools
— Key 17 for unscrewing the filter plug
— Toothbrush or brush with hard bristles, acetone (for cleaning)
— Pump for filter purge
Preparatory work
— Remove the engine air filter housing
— Clean the outer surface of the carburetor from dirt
Procedure for cleaning the carburetor fuel strainer Ozone
Unscrew the carburetor fuel filter plug
We use the key to “17”.
Unscrew the filter plug with a key to “17”, counterclockwise
Removing the mesh filter
We remove the plug; under it, in the mounting hole, a fuel filter is installed.
We remove the mesh fuel filter from the mounting hole in the “cover” of the Ozone carburetor
Clean it with a brush soaked in acetone.
The filter may look clean in appearance, but its mesh probably contains deposits that can only be removed with a brush.
Blow with compressed air
We use a pump (can be a car pump) or a compressor.
We clean and blow out the mounting hole for the filter in the carburetor cover
It may also contain deposits that impede the movement of fuel.
Reinstall the filter and plug
Wrap it clockwise. Lightly tighten with a wrench to “17”.
