Only the first digit “0” from “08:35” will begin to pulsate. Now you can use the arrows to change the readings of tens, of which we only have two. To go to the hour units, hold down the “up” button again for a couple of seconds, after which “8” will begin to pulsate. Using the joystick we set the numbers we need from “0” to “9”.
Secret settings of LADA VESTA
The standard BC and display reflecting the necessary information turn on simultaneously with turning the ignition key. The computer is controlled and configured using two buttons located at the end of the switch to the right of the steering wheel (Fig. 1). By pressing the buttons simultaneously, you can adjust the time, route mileage, reset the readings, and perform other actions.

This menu is a service menu and, according to AvtoVAZ’s plans, should not be available to a wide range of users, since, unknowingly, the sound of the turn signal repeaters may be turned off, which will be mistaken for a malfunction.
Hidden settings, not described in the manual, allow you to adjust the tone and volume of the turn signals and hazard warning lights.
To enter the hidden settings menu, press and hold simultaneously both on-board computer control buttons for about 5 seconds, located on the windshield wiper control lever (to the right of the steering wheel).

What does the model look like?
Connection of on-board computers is carried out by connecting the standard cable of the electronic control unit (ECU) to the OBD-II diagnostic connector in accordance with the instructions. After successfully installing the BC and connecting it to the ECU, you need to configure the onborder.
To do this, you need to start the engine and select a “custom” mode from the two offered on the display so that the type of ECU unit is automatically detected. To read sensor readings, you need to set “automatic selection” in the menu, and the computer will begin to receive information about all components of the car. Diagnostics will be carried out in accordance with the protocol corresponding to the machine model. The next stage is entering data into the BC that allows the computer to fulfill its functional purpose: the desired temperature in the cabin, the route and other parameters according to requests that will be displayed on the screen.

- on off. noise reduction function (noise reduction). Affects only operation in “Radio” mode;

The on-board computer State UniComp Vesta XD is intended for installation exclusively on Lada Vesta cars.

"PLASMER" function
This is plasma heating of candles. The effect is achieved by applying high-voltage pulses with a frequency of 150 Hz and an energy of 0.04 J to the electrodes of the spark plugs. During the exposure time, energy of about 60 J is released on each spark plug. In this case, the air in the cylinders is ionized, the electrodes of the spark plugs and their insulators are heated. After such preparation, the probability of failure to start the engine in severe frost or high humidity conditions, as well as in the event of unacceptable filling of spark plug electrodes with gasoline, is reduced several times.
"FAST AND THE FURIOUS" function
This is resetting (cleaning) the controller's memory to factory settings. This function erases not only error information, as was the case in previous versions of the On-Board Computer, but also removes the cause of the error, thereby resuscitating (correcting) the vehicle's electronic control unit. New automobile controllers, such as BOSCH MP7.0, BOSCH M7.9.7, JANUARY 7.2, have an operating algorithm based on comparing a mathematical model of the engine with real parameters. All deviations from the mathematical model are recorded in the controller’s special memory and taken into account in further work - this is the so-called self-learning of the controller. If the car is operated for a long time in an “unusual” mode, this can lead to undesirable consequences in the future. The engine may operate unstably, gain speed poorly, and experience detonation overloads more often. This happens, for example, when operating on low-quality gasoline; in monotonous mode (mainly at low or high engine speeds); in high load mode, etc. Most often this happens when changing the type of fuel from gasoline to gas or vice versa.
TROPIC function
This turns on the cooling system fan based on the engine temperature you set. This function is especially useful in the summer in hot weather, when the car is stuck in a traffic jam in the city, because... will help avoid engine overheating.
Computer installation
You can install the UniComp Vesta XD yourself; all the necessary wires are included in the kit. The connection sequence is described in detail in the operating instructions.
The BC has a built-in sound buzzer, as well as a USB connector for connecting to a PC to replace the firmware.
Deactivating daytime running lights
Daytime running lights on the Lada Vesta turn on automatically - you just need to turn the ignition switch to two extreme positions. DRLs were invented in order to increase traffic safety on the road, but we must admit that even, for example, at night they shine quite brightly and are sometimes completely inappropriate.
An example of this is an alarm system with auto start. If the owner activates this mode, then at night those around him will already know that the car’s engine is running - this increases the risk of vandalism or even theft. Therefore, some owners of domestic compact cars decided to turn off the DRLs.
This is done very simply. You just need to set the steering column lever to an intermediate position between 0 and the “dimensions” label. That's it, daytime running lights will not work for us when the ignition is activated.

Possible errors and methods for correcting them
During the operation of the vehicle, various malfunctions may occur. Information about breakdowns is displayed on the on-board computer screen in the form of digital error codes. The most common of them are: engine overheating, 0217; fuel pump does not work, 0230; incorrect ignition operation, 0301; ignition coil faulty, 0351; tachometer faulty, 0654; bad road, 1617. In addition to malfunctions in the operation of individual vehicle components, errors may also occur in the BC itself. This is easy to check: if no information is displayed on the screen when the ignition is turned on, you should check the connector connecting the computer to the computer. Obviously incorrect information is displayed on the screen when the protocol fails. To correct the situation, you need to reboot the BC, select the protocol corresponding to the characteristics of the car in the menu and install it. In case of more serious damage, you must contact the warranty workshop. It should be borne in mind that when storing the car outdoors for a long time, especially in severe frost, it is necessary to remove the on-board computer. Also, you must not allow water to enter the BC unit or operate it with faulty electrical equipment.
The on-board computer greatly simplifies the operation of the car, helps the driver navigate difficult situations, warning about dangers and malfunctions. The information displayed on the device screen is essentially a vehicle logbook, the analysis of which allows the driver to make the necessary decisions.
