Removing the passenger airbag of the Lada Granta

Characteristics of power steering of Lada Largus

This unit is no less important than the brake system. The safety of the driver and passengers also depends on its performance. Power steering (hydraulic power steering) provides the ability to control the car by easily positioning the drive wheels in the desired direction.

Largus power steering diagram

The Lada Largus is equipped with a combined type hydraulic booster, i.e. some of its elements are located directly in the steering mechanism housing. In other words, they are a component of the mechanical part of the steering column. Power steering Lada Largus consists of a standard set of elements:

  • tank;
  • power steering pump, complemented by a working fluid bypass valve;
  • pipelines;
  • redistribution mechanism;
  • working mechanism.

There are not many components, which explains the high reliability of the hydraulic booster. Malfunctions associated with its operation occur infrequently. Typically, problems arise due to violations of operating rules by the car owners themselves. Much less often - due to the natural wear and tear of parts, but, of course, one cannot ignore the low quality of components.

It's easy to check; just open the hood. The fluid in the system is also needed to lubricate the power steering elements. If the level is low, parts will begin to wear out too quickly. With such use, the unit is more likely to fail.

Purpose and operating principle of SNPB

The airbag system is an additional means of protecting the driver wearing a seat belt and is designed to reduce the severity of his injury during frontal (±30 degrees) vehicle collisions in traffic accidents. SNAP is triggered depending on the force of the vehicle’s collision with various obstacles. In case of normal activation in an emergency situation, the SNAP is launched regardless of the state of the driver's seat belt fastening. Therefore, the use of a seat belt by the driver is a prerequisite for the effective operation of the air safety system.

The airbag system begins to function after the ignition is turned on and is controlled by an electronic unit (BUSNPB) with a self-diagnosis function. The system is activated by submitting an electrical signal from the BUSNPB to the airbag module.

If the airbag is activated, the upper part of the cover of the facing module of the airbag, when the airbag is filled with gas, breaks in structurally defined places and opens into two or three parts. Through the resulting opening, the gas-filled airbag bag deploys in front of the steering wheel or instrument panel. The filling time of the pillow is about 30-40 ms. After the airbag inflates due to excess pressure, the gas escapes through special holes located in the rear of the airbag bag, thereby preventing the driver or passenger from colliding with parts of the vehicle's interior and at the same time softening the severity of the impact of their head and chest.

SNPB device

The LADA 2190 car in the “Norma” configuration is equipped with a single-channel SNPB, which includes:

  • gas generator module (MNPBV) (part 21910-8232010-00);
  • airbag system control unit (part 21900-3824010-00);
  • connector with rotating device (part 21700-3709315-00);
  • steering wheel (part 21910-3402018-00).

Airbag system:

  1. driver airbag module;
  2. installation location of the SNPB control unit.

The gas generator module (MNPBV) consists of a gas generator 1, a housing 7 with an inflatable cushion folded in it, a facing cover 9, a sound signal switch and fasteners.

Gas generator module (rear view):

  1. gas generator;
  2. hooks for fixing MNPBB;
  3. horn switch contacts;
  4. hooks for fixing MNPBB;
  5. location of the identification label;
  6. gas generator igniter connector;
  7. a body with an inflatable cushion folded in it;
  8. hooks for positioning MNPBV;
  9. facing cover.

The gas generator produces gas inside the module to inflate the airbag. The pyrotechnic substance located in the gas generator is ignited by a fuse-igniter mounted in the gas generator housing. There are two main types of gas generators. A pyrotechnic gas generator consists of a housing filled with a solid pyrotechnic substance and an igniter. In it, gas is produced when a pyrotechnic substance is burned. Used in the driver airbag module. A hybrid gas generator consists of a housing filled with compressed inert gas and a pyrotechnic substance, and an igniter. Used in the passenger airbag module. An igniter is a device with electrical resistance and a pyrotechnic substance. After receiving an electrical signal from the BUSNPB, the electrical resistance heats up and ignites the pyrotechnic substance of the igniter, followed by ignition of the bulk of the pyrotechnic substance of the gas generator.

An airbag is a bag made of synthetic material, built into the module body, which is filled with gas under pressure when the module is activated. The airbag is folded in a special way and closed with a facing cover.

The facing cover is a part that covers the airbag and ruptures when the airbag is filled with gas along the structural seam located on the back side of the cover.

Causes of airbag failure

The reason for the failure of the Lada Granta airbags is:

  • Triggered due to an accident.
  • Closure of the pillow package, which prevented it from opening, or a manufacturing defect.
  • Battery failure, which caused the airbags to deploy.
  • Wear of the pillow module.

Reasons for failure of the Lada Granta steering wheel:

  • Deformation of the structure due to the driver hitting the steering wheel.
  • Braid wear and cracks.
  • External factors that caused damage to the steering wheel.

All this becomes the reason for the forced replacement of the steering wheel and airbags.

Catalog numbers and steering wheel analogue options

It is generally accepted that only original spare parts for the steering wheel and airbags can be installed on the Lada Granta, but this is a misconception. There are several analogues of these parts, which are known only to tuning masters and some car enthusiasts.

Let's look at the catalog numbers and manufacturers of the Lada Granta steering wheel:

    The original VAZ part has the manufacturer's catalog number - 21910-3402018-00. It fits perfectly and does not require any improvements or modifications.

Catalog numbers and airbag manufacturers

Let's look at the catalog numbers and manufacturers of Lada Granta airbags:

  1. The original spare part is produced by the VAZ plant. It consists of several elements that include: a gas generator module (21910-8232010-00) and a safety control unit (21900-3824010-00).

Airbag module

Airbag control unit

Thus, you can understand that in addition to standard parts for the steering wheel and airbags of the Lada Grant, there are also analogues that few people know about.

Principle of operation

The security unit was developed in the middle of the last century. With the introduction of electronics, it has undergone some changes, but the principle of operation has remained virtually unchanged. Automakers do not adhere to any standards; moreover, many of them use their own developments.

At first glance, this appears to imply a narrow specification of the constituent parts. In fact, everything is just the opposite. Main components of the block:

  • a set of sensors;
  • airbags;
  • SRS unit;
  • wiring;
  • lamp on the instrument panel;
  • squib;
  • belt tensioners.

The general principle has remained unchanged for many years. And this is what he looks like.

  1. When an impact occurs, sensors are activated - there can be up to 10 or even 15 of them. They transmit information to the SRS unit about the location and force of the impact.
  2. The electronic unit processes this information. Taking into account the side of the impact and the number of passengers, it sends a signal to activate the airbag and belt.
  3. The squib fires and the airbag covers are knocked out.
  4. Bleeding air through a special valve or hole.

In addition to the points listed above, it is necessary to clarify one point. When the airbags deploy, Crash Data is recorded in the electronic unit. After this it stops functioning.

Damage to wiring and connectors

If the airbag light is on on the dashboard, and the diagnostics show an open or short circuit in the ignition circuit of a particular airbag, sensor or switch, there is most likely mechanical damage to the wiring or connector. Most often, as mentioned earlier, this happens due to the fault of people who disassembled something in the car before.

  • When removing the driver's airbag, for example before removing the steering wheel, it is easy to damage its fragile connector. Subsequently, this will reveal itself as a fixed open circuit when the steering column cable is in working order;
  • when removing the plastic panels before soundproofing the interior, the wiring of the pretensioners and seat belt position sensors may be damaged, and the connectors may not be fully latched during reassembly;
  • If the car is equipped with a longitudinal position sensor, the wiring coming from it may become bent over time. In this case, in some seating positions, the warning light on the instrument panel may go out;
  • in the same way, the wiring from the presence sensor, which is triggered by a load on the seat cushion, can be damaged. In addition, he himself can be damaged by an excessively massive passenger;
  • The warning light also lights up if there is a fault in the connection between the airbag control unit and other vehicle systems. This is especially true for cars where they are deeply integrated into the operation of the digital CAN bus; for example, the inability to read information about the vehicle speed from the ABS controller is considered an error, although the airbag control system itself is absolutely working.

What to do after the airbag is triggered?

It is worth knowing that restoring airbags without involving service station specialists is a dangerous undertaking.

And the problem is not even that in the event of a collision the airbags are less likely to open. It's worse if they work spontaneously.

To avoid problems, you should contact an official dealer, who will adjust the system and replace faulty components.

When servicing yourself, there are a number of points to consider:

  1. In some cars, the airbag and squib are one unit that is purchased as a kit. This is done at a disassembly site or in a store (the first option is cheaper, but the risk of the product not being opened in an accident increases). There are also companies that do not change the airbag, but supply it with a whole squib (such a restoration should be avoided).
  2. In addition to the airbags, in 60% of cases the control unit also has to be replaced. If you're lucky, flashing the firmware will suffice. This is explained by the fact that in the event of a collision, information about the operation of the system is recorded in memory. Therefore, one replacement is not enough - the device will not work. The solution lies only in reflashing.
  3. In some cases, entire seat belt pretensioners are installed - units that compensate for stretching and tighten the belt during an accident.
  4. The final repair cycle is the restoration (replacement) of the airbag covers (often included). The problem with many cars is the lack of such covers, which forces the car owner to change the panel or repair the old one using dermantine, leather, or by soldering damaged areas. Such events are theoretically acceptable. But will you be sure that in the event of an accident the cover will allow the airbag to deploy?

When repairing an airbag, the following points are taken into account:

  1. Removing the negative terminal from the battery is mandatory, after which you should wait until the autonomous power source discharges (7-10 minutes);
  2. The airbag is positioned with the body facing towards itself.

Often, car enthusiasts do not repair the airbag and limit themselves to restoring the body. In this case, the light bulb on the dashboard is removed or a “fake” is installed instead of a pillow.

This approach is dangerous. It is better to contact an official dealer and restore the system.

As for selling a car with a deployed airbag, this is real, but the new owner should be aware of the problem.

If you repair the panel and turn off the “lamp,” the buyer is unlikely to notice anything without diagnostics, but in the first accident, his death falls on the conscience of the seller.

Removing and installing the steering wheel on a Lada Granta car

Let's consider removing the steering wheel with an airbag, since without an airbag, removing the steering wheel is not particularly difficult and is performed in the same way as on models 2108-2110.

To complete the job, you will need a special airbag remover and a new steering wheel nut.

If you don’t have a puller, you can make one from an old slotted screwdriver with a blade width of 5 mm; to do this, you need to make a small groove in the middle of the blade.

1. Remove the terminal from the negative terminal of the battery.

On a vehicle equipped with an airbag, to prevent the airbag from deploying, wait at least five minutes after disconnecting the battery before continuing to operate.

Replacing the Lada Granta airbag

We remove the airbag when removing the steering wheel, when the airbag deploys, or when the airbag malfunctions.

The presence of an airbag on the vehicle is confirmed by the inscription “AIRBAG” on the cover of the driver’s airbag module installed on the steering wheel, the inscription “SRS/AIRBAG” on the cover of the front passenger’s airbag module located in the instrument panel, and the inscription “AIRBAG” on the label of the front airbag tape. seat belt.

The condition of the SNAP is monitored by a signaling device located in the instrument cluster, which, after turning on the ignition, in the absence of a malfunction, should turn on for 3–4 seconds and turn off.

If there is a malfunction of the SNBP:

– the indicator turns on again after 3–4 seconds of lighting when the ignition is turned on or while the vehicle is moving and remains on until the malfunction is eliminated;

– when the ignition is turned on, the indicator does not turn on.

Flashing of the indicator after turning on the ignition indicates that the SNAP control unit is in a locked state.

The factory recommends replacing airbag modules after ten years from the date of manufacture. The date is indicated on the airbag module label.

The driver airbag module uses a pyrotechnic gas generator, which consists of a housing filled with a solid pyrotechnic substance and an igniter. In it, gas is produced when a pyrotechnic substance is burned.

Removing the driver's airbag

We prepare the car for the job.

Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

After disconnecting the battery, you need to wait 10 minutes until the airbag activator capacitor is completely discharged.

The driver's airbag is mounted on the steering wheel with two plastic hooks 2 and 4, Figure 2, and two positioning hooks 8.

The hooks of the pillow fit into the holes in the bracket for fixation 2 and are fixed with spring clips. The airbag latches fit into recesses 3, Figure 3, on the steering wheel.

We set the steering wheel to the “straight” position and, by removing the key from the ignition switch, fix this position.

Use a thin flat screwdriver to pierce the hole marked on the steering wheel. We also pierce a hole on the other side of the steering wheel.

Using two screwdrivers, press out the spring clamps through the holes (in the picture with the airbag removed), pulling the airbag towards you, we remove the hooks of the airbag from engagement with the clamps on the steering wheel.

We pull the pillow towards ourselves, overcoming the resistance of the clamps, and remove it from the recesses of the steering wheel.

Move the airbag away from the steering wheel

Disconnect the horn wire ends

Use a screwdriver to pry the clamp out of the wire block

Disconnect the wire block from the airbag connector

Removing the airbag

The removed airbag should be stored in a place protected from moisture and excessive heat, with its cover facing up.

Installing the airbag is done in the reverse order.

We connect the block of wires to the airbag connector, insert the lock into the block.

We connect the wire lugs to the terminals of the signal switch.

We install the cushion on the steering wheel so that the cushion clamps fit into the recess of the steering wheel, and the hooks of the cushion fit into the corresponding holes in the steering wheel.

Press the cushion until the hooks of the cushion snap into place with the steering wheel latches.

In a factory or car service center, plastic wedges are used to remove airbags (Figure 11).

And devices for removing pillows are used (Figure 12).

How to Remove an Airbag From a Grant's Steering Wheel

Driving the Lada Grant requires some protection from the driver and passengers. Recently, airbags were installed in the Russian automobile industry. However, there is one problem: they are disposable, and when it works, they need to be replaced. This process is complex and requires some experience and knowledge. Sometimes it is also necessary to remove or replace a steering wheel that causes cracks or deformation when the driver hits it.

Lada Grant with airbag

Necessary condition for Lada Grant airbag failure:

  • Running through the accident.
  • Closing a package of pillows that prevented her from discovering a manufacturing defect.
  • Battery failure causing airbags to deploy.
  • Worn airbag module.

Prerequisites for failure of the Lada Grant steering wheel:

  • Deformation of the structure due to the driver’s influence on the steering wheel.
  • Hair wear and cracks.
  • External causes that caused damage to the steering wheel.

The entire population becomes a prerequisite for a forced change of steering wheel and airbags.

It is believed that only unique steering wheel and airbag parts can be installed on the Lada Grant, but this is a misconception. There are some analogues of these parts, the presence of which is understandable only to tuning specialists and some car owners.

Let's look at the catalog numbers and manufacturers of the Lada Grant steering wheel:

  1. The unique VAZ product has the manufacturer’s catalog number - 21910-3402018-00. It completely becomes a place and doesn't even require any improvements in other improvements.

Thus, you can realize that in addition to the standard Lada Grant steering wheel and airbags, there are also analogues that are rarely known.

Control unit VAZ 2190 Granta with airbags and seat belts for 2

Dear customers, in order to avoid errors when sending the airbag and seat belt control unit, in the “Comment” line indicate your car model, year of manufacture, one, two or four airbags and seat belts.

Most modern cars are equipped with a variety of safety systems designed to minimize harm to human health during an accident. One of the main ones is airbags. If the airbag system indicator on your car goes off, this means that during an emergency it will not be able to fulfill its main purpose well - to soften the impact.

Takata electronics aims to constantly monitor the speed of the car, its position on the road, the “fastening” of seat belts, the number of people in the cabin, and also at the time of the accident to record the nature and location of impacts on the car. According to the block indicators, the system automatically makes a decision regarding its operation.

The SRS or AutoLiv system, Airbag, known to us as “airbags”, is an elastic module that is filled with air or gas, with an electronic control unit and seat belts. Airbags are designed to soften impacts and reduce injuries during an accident, but most importantly, they serve to preserve the health and life of drivers and passengers.

The airbag gas generator module assembly is a combination of a sensor, an actuator and a nylon airbag. The explosion is achieved by controlled ignition of explosives, which are in the form of pills. At the moment of the explosion, air fills the pillow at incredible speed.

If the SRS icon is lit on your dashboard (drivers call this symbol “pot-bellied guy” :)), then you definitely need to worry about repairing the airbags in your car.

At the same time, the lighting of the Airbag indicator does not always mean that the airbag is faulty. Now many automakers are connecting to it other systems involved in ensuring the safety of the driver and his passengers. They are usually collectively referred to as "SRS".

It includes:

– airbags;

– shock sensors;

– pretensioners;

- seat belts;

- Control block

and others, if provided by the manufacturer. That is, if the airbag system light comes on, something has happened to one of these components. It is difficult for an inexperienced driver to accurately determine the cause of the malfunction, so if such a problem occurs, it is better to contact an experienced specialist. He will make a diagnosis and recommend methods for eliminating the problem; it is also worth checking the ABS indicator (anti-slip indicator).

The security system with the SRS indicator on is completely inoperative. If the airbag indicator is constantly on, then in the event of an accident not a single airbag will deploy, even if they are all in place. The indicator should light up when the ignition is turned on and go out after a few seconds.

After an accident, the system stores all information about the collision in the electronic unit and an indicator lights up on the control panel, signaling the need for repairs.

Repairing the airbags themselves is not possible and they must be replaced.

– Attempting to remove the airbag module without disconnecting its power supply may result in unexpected deployment of the airbag.

– You can begin the following work to remove the airbag only after the activator capacitor has completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, you must wait at least one minute after turning off the power supply. Do not disassemble the airbag module.

– Do not drop the airbag module and do not allow water, grease or oil to come into contact with it.

– The airbag module must not be exposed to temperatures above 95 °C. When installing the module in the steering wheel of a car, be outside the airbag deployment area.

– When you turn on the ignition for the first time after installing the airbag module in the vehicle, stand outside the vehicle and turn on the ignition switch by reaching under the steering column.

The nuances of replacement and what should be prevented

As with any car repair for the Lada Granta, when replacing the airbag and steering wheel, there are nuances that need to be taken into account. So, what is worth considering when performing dismantling work:

  • Before you begin removing the airbag, it is imperative to disable the control module. If this is not done, then the probability of the airbag triggering when turned off is 99%.
  • When the power is turned off, you need to wait until the activator capacitor discharges. The manufacturer recommends doing this after 1 minute, but as practice shows, it may take up to 3-4 minutes, so you should wait 5 minutes.
  • Never allow water, oil or other liquid materials to come into contact with the cushion module.
  • When installing the airbag, you should be outside the triggering area.
  • After installing the airbag, you should turn on the ignition by reaching under the steering column.

Compliance with all the listed nuances will protect against airbag deployment and harm to a person, since in practice there have been cases when neglect of safety precautions became fatal for car service workers.

Why restore airbags?

Repairing airbags is not a cheap pleasure. Especially on cars where there are about or more than ten of these airbags.

Many car enthusiasts abandon the repair idea, limiting themselves to only repairing airbag covers. And the light on the instrument panel, signaling a malfunction, is simply pulled out or a “fake” is installed.

Whether to restore the Airbag system from an authorized dealer or on your own, and whether to repair it at all, is up to everyone to decide for themselves, but safety is not the case where you should save money.

Sometimes I receive letters on AUTOBLOG with questions about airbags. Some questions are related to the device (but this is an extensive article and there will definitely be one), but many ask questions about repairing or restoring pillows. Today I decided to write an article, it will probably disappoint many, but first things first...

Without going into deep technical details, an airbag is an element of the active safety of a car. In the event of a collision, based on data from special sensors, the airbags fire, thus protecting the driver and passengers from the inertia of a collision with another vehicle or obstacle. It should be noted that the protection is very effective (severe injuries or death are reduced tenfold), but such protection only works at certain speeds.

Food for thought: - There is no need to delude yourself, airbags are effective at speeds up to 60 - 70 km/h, after this point the efficiency decreases in a quadratic progression with each kilometer exceeded. According to active safety experts, airbags are practically useless at speeds between 100 and 120 km/h. So think!

Well, okay, that’s not what we’re talking about today, what about restoring or repairing airbags? Guys, not everything is simple here either!

Just about the structure

As I already wrote at the top, there will be a whole article in detail, but now a small explanation.

The pillow itself consists of several parts.

pillow assembly

The first is the front side, usually this is a plastic lining of the steering wheel or the front instrument panel; there may also be fabric “linings”, for example in the seats.

The second is the airbag itself, which is folded and opens during a collision and inflates.

The third is a squib, a complex device that carries a charge and solid fuel in its structure. In the event of a collision, the charge shoots into the fuel and a gas (usually nitrogen or argon) is formed under high pressure, which inflates the airbag in a matter of seconds. Opening speed exceeds 300 km/h.

That is, to put it simply, this is a single-shot device, somewhat similar to a regular firearm cartridge, it fires and that’s it! I hope the principle is a little clear.

How to repair - restore?

No way! If it shoots, then you simply need to change it. We don’t repair a regular weapon cartridge, and the same goes for a pillow.

Again, there is proper restoration, and there is simply criminal!

Proper restoration is when the squib is changed and a new cushion block is installed, and the plastic lining is correctly restored. Of course, such repairs are not so cheap, but they are still somewhat cheaper than a completely new unit. Again, this matter should be entrusted to professionals, because an incorrectly configured unit can work at any time and provoke an accident.

Incorrect or criminal restoration is when they throw out all the used pillows and fill the place with cotton wool - polyurethane foam, etc. The plastic cover is not difficult to restore, so it is attached on top. Of course, this allows you to avoid the very large costs of purchasing a new unit, but such savings in the event of a serious accident could cost you your life. Don’t skimp on safety because it’s almost always your life.

I’m posting a short video, showing the airbags, and a short video of how they are restored correctly.

In conclusion, I would like to say that if you are in an accident and the airbags are deployed, there are several correct solutions. Sell the car in this condition - without deceiving buyers (you can also buy spare parts), restore everything completely, including the airbag unit, and drive it yourself or sell the car. There shouldn’t be any other options, don’t worry about it!

How to disable the passenger airbag Kalina 2

Accident statistics show that an airbag reduces the death rate by an average of a third. There are cases when a serious collision ended in a slight injury due to the opening of the airbag. But what to do after the airbag deploys on an Opel Astra, Lada Granta or Priora, as well as on other cars? How to fix the error?

Airbag device

An airbag cushion is an elastic base that fills with gas in the event of an accident.

The complex of components also includes a control system and a gas generator. Starch or talc acts as a lubricant for the material, guaranteeing clear opening.

The gas generator's job is to fill the airbag with gas during a collision. Together, the gas generator and the shell form an airbag.

Airbag designs are classified:

  1. By the nature of the action - with one and two-stage operation;
  2. In shape - in the form of a tube or dome;
  3. According to the type of gas formation - hybrid or solid fuel.

A solid fuel generator is based on a fuel charge, a squib and a housing. The airbag is charged with a special composition based on silicon dioxide, potassium nitrate and sodium azide.

The fuel is ignited by the action of the squib, after which gas is formed.

In a hybrid gas generator, the main components are a squib, a housing, a gas and a solid propellant charge.

After a collision, the airbag cushions are filled with compressed gas, releasing a solid propellant charge.

The task of the control system is to combine devices (control unit, shock sensors, squib) and guarantee their precise operation.

How does an airbag deploy in an accident?

The airbag is deployed during a collision with another object or vehicle.

Depending on the location of the impact, the front or side airbags are activated. As soon as the impact force is above the limit level (set by software), the impact sensors send a command to the control unit.

The latter collects information, analyzes it and decides whether to deploy the airbags or not. The described actions occur in a fraction of a second.

The control unit sends a command to turn on the gas generator of a specific airbag. In this case, the response time is 30-40 ms. During this period, the gas generator guarantees the expansion and filling of the pillow with gas.

As soon as the airbag touches the human body, it ruptures and deflates.

The front airbags are activated when a number of conditions are met:

  • Car fire;
  • Increasing the specified impact force in a frontal collision;
  • Vehicle crash;
  • A sharp collision with the wall of a hole, a curb or the edge of a sidewalk;
  • Impact to the end of the car (oblique frontal collision);
  • A hard fall on the wheels after a “jump”.

It is worth knowing that the front airbags do not deploy in the following cases - when the car rolls over, a side impact or contact from the rear.

It is built into the car program that before opening the airbag, the speed of deceleration of the car and movement at the moment of collision, the presence of connected seat belts, and so on are analyzed.

What to do if the airbag deploys?

Car enthusiasts are often lost and don’t know what to do when opening an airbag. On many cars (Lada Granta and Priora, Ford Focus 2, Lada Priora, Opel Astra and others), you will have to perform the following manipulations:

  • Install new airbags, replacing those that have already deployed;
  • Correct the “brains” of the control system, that is, the unit that is responsible for the SRS. Instead of the error, a dump of the new machine is installed (as if there was no accident);
  • Install a special snag (plug).

The problem is that each manufacturer has classified information, which forces car enthusiasts to buy a new control unit for the airbag. In addition, airbags are often tied to the VIN number or model of the vehicle.

If you go to a service station, the cost of restoration work will hit your wallet.

Experienced car enthusiasts copy a security system dump and write it to a remote memory device.

Data is stored until sold. If the car is involved in an accident, it is easier for a specialist to restore the system.

In this situation, a microcircuit and a programmer are purchased, after which the device is flashed. The average cost for such work is from 5-7 thousand rubles.
