What's the result?
The restyling that the Lada Granta underwent made the popular Togliatti model much more attractive in appearance, but in essence the car remained the same. This is a clear “state budget” product, the creators of which thought primarily about reducing costs to maintain an affordable price, and not about ergonomics, handling and other “high matters”.
“Grant” more and more obviously needs at least a deeper modernization, or better yet, a new generation on a new platform. It is worth noting that externally this sedan differs from its predecessor, for the most part, only in the external rearview mirrors, which are now equipped with turn signals. The bumpers have also changed. By the way, changes in the interior are also minimal.
Among other things, the door seals and vacuum brake booster were replaced. The dimensions of the body have not changed in any way: length - 4.2 meters, width - 1.7 meters, height - 1.5 meters. The wheelbase size is 2.4 meters. And the ground clearance is 16 centimeters.

It’s even strange that the door locks on the new Grant work much softer and quieter.
So why is the new Grant better than the old one? She's prettier. And obviously quieter. The motors are the same, but now “plug-inless”. Chronic problems with handling and vibrations have not been cured, and they create the feeling that a long-familiar product was served in brighter packaging.
I think the situation will fundamentally change in about four years, when a completely new Granta will appear on the B0 platform. In the meantime, you don’t have to choose - with a skinny wallet.
